Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

It’s a good piece. click on over. but then come back!!

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

SCOTUS: It’s not “bribery” unless it comes from the Bribery region of France. Otherwise, it’s merely “sparkling malfeasance”.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Every reporter and pundit should have to declare if they ever vacationed with a billionaire.

Make the republican party small enough to drown in a bathtub.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Disappointing to see gov. newsom with his finger to the wind.

When you’re a Republican, they let you do it.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

When you’re in more danger from the IDF than from Russian shelling, that’s really bad.

A tremendous foreign policy asset… to all of our adversaries.

’Where will you hide, Roberts, the laws all being flat?’

Everybody saw this coming.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

My blog is worth $578,653.50.
How much is your blog worth?

I have no idea how that was calculated (h/t C&L).

Hmm. I have no idea how the thing calculates. I ran BJ and Dkos for comparison; DKos priced about at about 10x BJ.

DKos the other day reported well over a million page views a day, IIRC. Now as much as I appreciate (believe it or not) BJ, it ain’t gettin’ 100k pageviews a day, is it?

Doing these things is a lot like figuring out what I am worth dead, if my spouse collected on everything she’d have coming to her. It all seems very abstract ……….

(why is she looking at me that way ??)

Perhaps the value of a blog is calculated by the quantity of comments posted in reply to the articles left by its editor?

In which case Rick Moran’s “Rightwing Nuthouse” would be worth about .15 cents.

    Google is worth: $99,720,910.14

Get’s traffic to his google ads with that little app. Thats about it.

All three of my blogs are worth $0.

Meanwhile, HappyFunPundit.com, the discontinued humor blog which has been gone for at least a year now, still has enough dead links in people blogrolls to be worth skywards of $600K.

Kind of like Jimi Hendrix having earned more each year since he died than I’ll earn in my entire life. >:^/

Folks, it’s all explained right here:

    http://www.tnl.net/blog/entry/Doing_the_numbers_on_the_AOL-WeblogsInc_deal

Basically, the value of one’s blog is based on the number of incoming links from Technorati, based on the value of about $540/link based on the numbers being kicked around for the AOL/Weblogs Inc deal. Full disclosure – I write for Autoblog, but I have no idea if the price tag for Weblogs Inc. that’s floating around is accurate.

There’s a bug somewhere. My weblog has plenty of links Technorati knows about yet my weblog is worth zilch.
