Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

A norm that restrains only one side really is not a norm – it is a trap.

Decision time: keep arguing about the last election, or try to win the next one?

Let’s delete this post and never speak of this again.

Everything is totally normal and fine!!!

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, hurry up and indict this prick.

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

You cannot love your country only when you win.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

Relentless negativity is not a sign that you are more realistic.

You don’t get rid of your umbrella while it’s still raining.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

In after Baud. Damn.

People are weird.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

I really should read my own blog.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

People really shouldn’t expect the government to help after they watched the GOP drown it in a bathtub.

Come on, man.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

Sometimes the world just tells you your cat is here.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Republicans: slavery is when you own me. freedom is when I own you.

Wow! Miers was the worst Supreme Court ever. If Bush ever failed to top himself in ineptitude, I’d simply laugh and move on. Unfortunately, I fear the worst is yet to come.

Seh’s doing a heckuva job. Nobody could have anticipated the difficulties she faced in this nomination.

I hear that Bush is planning on nominating the brush from his ranch next. He’s spent so much time clearing that brush. He really knows the brush’s heart. -psst- and the brush loves the womb babies. Pass it down.

All I know is Stormy supported her as a qualified candidate, which tells you how high the bar was on that issue.

A chill wind is blowing in this nation.

Funny, I’d expect many in the Bush administration to find it growing a bit warm in Washington, despite the season. . .

damn. and i was so looking forward to the nomination hearings.

since she explained her withdrawal by covering herself in the mantle of the Protector of Executive Privilege, i wonder whether that means gonzales is right out. i am still convinced he was bush’s first choice. it’s not kind of me to wish for bush to be petulant, is it.

the next nominee will not be such fun and games for democrats.

    Oh my living fuck…

A SCOTUS nominee who doesn’t know the difference between “your” and “you’re”, and who uses the terms “super excited” and “OMG”.

It’s Freaky Friday! She’s been taken over by the spirit of Lindsay Lohan! That’s the only explanation….

Lines – Okay, I admit I had a dumb moment. It happens to all of us at one point or another.

I have to ask, though…what the hell did I do to you to deserve that?
