One of the better bumperstickers I’ve seen lately reads:
“Life is too short for golf.”
You’d have to add college football to the list.

Yea, I really don’t understand how people are interested in college football.
Then again, in Texas people are interested in High School football. Heh.

Go Army!

College sports are actually interesting, unlike professional sports. Far fewer overpaid primadonnas for one (with the exception of Miami….). Oh yeah…
GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!!!

When I was a young lad I used to get all excited about the Army-Navy game, but that’s because my dad did. He was army.
I haven’t cared at all, not since I was in the army. I don’t think it has anything to do with the reality of military service, it’s just that they don’t have very good teams anymore.
Sports, anyway, is organized distraction to keep our eyes off the ball, so to speak mixing the metaphors.

The Middies were better prepared for the game and Bobby Ross will need to fire John Mumford. The cadets had two weeks to prepare for this game and they did a good job of scoring, but the defense was just abyssmal against the hybrid option that Navy’s been so successful running under Paul Johnson.
College football is the greatest game anywhere. Service academy football is the last of the real amatures and worth watching.
I hope Ross can make my beloved Army team a competitor in the coming years. Notre Dame has ALL the service academies on theri schedule next year. I would love to see at least two of them upset the Irish somehow.
Beat Navy! Beat Notre Dame!
