Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

People are weird.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

So many bastards, so little time.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Election Blogging

Live reporting from the elections in Iraq can be found at PJ Media, and for the record, this is the type of thing I thought PJ Media would be really good at- gathering on the ground reports from bloggers, bypassing the MSM.

Another comprehensive run-down can be found at Memeorandum.

You know- no more links to the Axis of Asshole, aka Althouse, Moxie, etc.

They are just bitter shrews who for some reason have a hard-on towards Roger and Charles. They are free to start their own competing businesses if they know so damned much.

And what makes me pissed off the most is that their commentary is so nasty and childish I feel compelled to defend PJ, even though I think they have made significant missteps.

BTW- I like how all the anti PJ crowd has banded together- presumably to maintain the ‘independence’ of blogging that Althouse is so deadset on protecting.

Think about it for a minute.

    John,

Couldn’t you see the blogger backlash from PJ coming? I mean even before the silly launch and subsequent fuck ups?

I agree, it’s a bit silly as well as over the top, but think about it for a second.

Bloggers going over the top? That never happens!

I think it’s yet another sign of the incredible navel gazing among the blogsphere types who think they are much much more important than they really are (and I’d include a lot of PJ types in that group as well).

Like it matters, John, we’re all going to be dead of ricin poisoning thanks to the D.C. Vichy government and their soft-heartedness regarding torture.

I honestly haven’t followed the entire Pajama Media issue much (the OSM thing was rather funny, though), I just thought it was interesting that they were doing a high dollar ad buy. Is there an official list of anti-PJ bloggers? I wouldn’t want to step on any toes in the future.

I really hadn’t paid much attention to PJM. However, I finally went to read it, expecting a somewhat serious center-right take on events. However, as soon as I saw the words “loonie left” on the front page, my eyes glazed over. Is it so hard to get your point across without charicaturing or insulting your political adversaries?

    Sign me,
Still waiting for a decent blog aggregator.

That said, I hope that the elections today are reasonably incident-free, and that they eventually lead to a peaceful, democratic Iraq. I still think they have a long slog ahead of them, and that the success of the result doesn’t preclude criticism of the methods used by the Administration to achieve the success.

Hopefully, when the new Parliament is shortly formed, the troops can start coming home. That would be a really nice Christmas present.

Well, I myself would hope not to have one of my threads/posts bombed in such a fashion.

But, then I don’t see the esteemed Mz. Althouse here John. So, I won’t defend you there. (And) I think Ann can defend herself just fine. But you can’t have it both ways John. And if my memory correct, you recently had other unkind things to say about her? (do feel free to correct me).

I say relax if you can. Everybody try and get a grip. The G70 go ahead and blog their way to fame and fortune. And the Axis of Arse laugh until there is nothing to laugh about anymore. Just maybe on separate blogs?

    Respectfully, Elmo.

I looked at the OSM site before I’d heard anything about any sort of controversy.

It seemed like the sort of thing we would’ve knocked together on our lunch hour at work, if the free food in the break room wasn’t too interesting.

    Christ, jane, grow up.

I also called them assholes (unisex but mostly used on males) and said they had hard-ons (umm, a masculine turn of phrase).

I may be coarse and vulgar, but sexist I am not. If anything, my sin is treating people like Althouse and Moxie just like I would treat males, forgetting how quickly people like you and and they will quickly seize on ‘sexism’ if it serves your purpose.

And frankly, I don’t understand the ‘good fuck’ remark. Couldn’t everyone use a good fuck?

Grow up? Seize on sexism if it serves a purpose? Wow, if you weren’t so obviously full of testosterone, I’d think you were acting like a girl.

You’re getting shrill, JC…”shrew” used to describe anything but the animal is a perjorative term used exclusively for women, and in this case that would be the two women to whom you reference in your comment. Unless you’re forging new ground in sociolinguistics, you weren’t referring to the boys..that would be the unnamed and unreferenced boys in said comment.

I didn’t call you a sexist, but your statement is sexist.

    The statement is not sexist.

If you referred to me andanother male as curmudgeons, words used almost exculsively to describe males, would that make it a sexist statement? NO.

In fact, the dictionary even defines a shrew as “A woman with a violent, scolding, or nagging temperament; a scold.”

It has a specific meaning, and that meaning is not sexist.

Sexism is discrimination based on sex, and I did nothing of the sort. I simply used an accurate descriptor of the two.

Sexist or not (and I vote not), it does make you look like a whiny little bitch who is really of no higher class than your so-called Axis.
