Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

“The defense has a certain level of trust in defendant that the government does not.”

Everything is totally normal and fine!!!

The words do not have to be perfect.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Republicans: slavery is when you own me. freedom is when I own you.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

Republicans do not trust women.

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Everybody saw this coming.

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

It’s a good piece. click on over. but then come back!!

Not loving this new fraud based economy.

Just because you believe it, that does not make it true.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

He seems like a smart guy, but JFC, what a dick!

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

Museums are not America’s attic for its racist shit.

It’s funny that the only impression of the SCOTUS outside a couple of recent audio clips that I have come from “The People vs. Larry Flynt”, where Scalia had the most prominent role.

I wonder if he was cracking jokes when he betrayed his own legal philosophy to ensure that Bush became POTUS.

    Hah hah.

I love that Thomas rates a zero. I guess that’s what happens when you never ask questions at oral argument and simply cede your vote to Scalia each time.

Liptak is kinda dense if he finds Roberts’ joke about Gibbons v. Ogden hard to comprehend. It’s pretty obvious.

As it see it, nearly every Scalia argument is a knee-slapper. Or is that wrist-slapper?

Scalia’s opinions, at least, can be hilarious. He’s definitely an insulting bastard, but he’s funny.

Even on a post like this — about humor — a couple of Lefty commenters display their amazing lack of same.

Sad, really, for a party that wants to reassume power.
