Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The willow is too close to the house.

We still have time to mess this up!

They’re not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.

Second rate reporter says what?

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

This really is a full service blog.

Let there be snark.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

Bark louder, little dog.

T R E 4 5 O N

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Republicans in disarray!

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

Consistently wrong since 2002

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Wow, I can’t imagine what it was like to comment in morse code.

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

Wired For Sound

Via ISOU, this interesting tidbit in the “Duke” Cunningham case:

Sources familiar with the situation say Cunningham, a California Republican who pleaded guilty Nov. 28 to taking $2.4 million in bribes — including a yacht, a Rolls Royce and a 19th Century Louis-Philippe commode — from a defense contractor, wore a wire at some point during the short interval between the moment he began cooperating with the feds and the announcement of his guilty plea on Nov. 28.

The identity of those with whom the San Diego congressman met while wearing the wire remains unclear, and is the source of furious — and nervous — speculation by congressional Republicans.

Let the dirty bastards sweat.

It’s kind of funny that the Republicans have created so much grief for themselves so quickly after several successive victories. And when I say “grief for themselves” I mean it too. It’s tough to argue that the Dems have been whooping ass by any measure. I don’t know what the next election will bring, but if the R’s see their majorities thin or fade, it’ll really and truly be their own fault.

it’ll really and truly be their own fault.

No it will really and truly be the fault of the liberal media who insist on reporting all of these crimes instead of properly focusing on our outstanding successes in the WOT.Oh, yeah and Clinton did it too.

Yeah, but it still pisses me off that the Democrats whole strategery for winning elections is to wait for the Republicans to self destruct…

Granted, it does seem to be a pretty regular thing for the GOP to do… but it still pisses me off.

Let’s just hope the Dukester stopped in to chat with his northern neighbor David Dreier a little bit. We almost whipped that punk the last time. Held him to 54% of the vote in one hell of a gerrymandered Republican district.

I see your point, but it’s about damn time that these crooks, and by crook I mean all dirty politicians, are gonna go down.
