I have a lot of respect for Donovan McNabb and what he has accomplished. T.O. going to Denver is a great thing for the Eagles, and will be a great thing for Jake. Let those two pathetic ego’s battle it out and drag down a half-way decent Broncos team instead of Super Bowl capable teams.

I’m a Niners fan. I’d rather be 4-12 without TO than in the playoffs with TO. He’s a disgrace.
When he implied Jeff Garcia is gay he proved what a complete a-hole he is. That, of course, was only one of many, many times he proved it. The old Niners won with class. The TO Niners were a circus, just like the Eagles.
It’s always got to be all about TO. What a pathetic creature.

Lines: TO and Jake the Snake will do just fine, until the end of TO’s first season with the Broncos.
After that, TO will start in on how Jake can’t do anything right and that the team isn’t supporting TO, and that TO has to do everything.

Nah, TO will call out Jake “the Fake’s” reality long before the end of the season. The sideline yelling will make for quality family friendly TV all season long.
See, the problem is that I went to school with Jake, I predicted their loss with precision. Jake doesn’t care who he throws the ball to, he just wants the credit for the throw.
TO will want to be the ONLY receiver out there, so its going to be a massive arm waving until he learns how to fly.

Meanwhile, here in Philly, where we consistently destroy our own star players because we’re just mean like that, the cover of the Daily News reads “Would You Like Cork With That Whine?” (or something close to that). The Daily News’ Sam Donellon also slams McNabb here:
OUCH! I’m originally from NY, where we do this kind of slamming our own players all the time, but, serioulsy, Philly has got it down to an art form!!!!
When the whole TO thing went down, I told all of my Eagles fan friends, “McNabb is soooo fucked.”
“Why? Now he doesn’t have to deal with that asshole,” they’d reply. And I would explain that now he had to have all of the focus on him from the Philly press, and they will eat him alive, bringing up how his Superbowl choke over and over and questioning his leaderhsip ability all season. Because, unless the Eagles find another star receiver for him, you’re not gonna see a 16-2 season for a long time.
Oh, and don’t forget the players – they’s question him, too. Example:
Rocky Smith
I hope the Broncos do sign TO. By the way- I’m a long time Charger fan.

Striking that McNabb’s folks tried to reach out to T.O. without success.

I have to say the whole “black on black crime” thing about the Brett Favre comments was a bit ridiculous. Especially since the McNabbs mistook the context of the statement.
And as much of a jerk as TO is, if he goes to the Broncos and they win the Superbowl next year none of the scenarios of doom and gloom will come to fruition. At the end of the day talent and performance on the field trump just about everything in football. And no one is denying how good TO is.

When TO’s ego tries to fit on the same field as Jake’s, there are going to be fireworks. When TO doesn’t get the ball every other down (or more often) he’s going to get pissed and start playing like a spoiled child. Thats not going to be a long term winning solution for Denver.
Besides, TO can’t catch something that is intercepted because Jake throws like a girl.

Look, I live about 10 mins from Philly. I’m a big Eagles Fan, and an even bigger McNabb fan, but his black-on-black crime statement is a little ridiculous.
Though it did make me laugh.

As much as I’ve rooted for the Eagles and McNabb, I agree that his comments were a little much, and coming when they did, did sound like whining.
McNabb and the Eagles are now on the clock. They better be in the playoffs next year or there will be hell to pay in Philly. The Philly fans have very little patience and the Super Bowl will be a distant memory come December 06.
