Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

Everybody saw this coming.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

Historically it was a little unusual for the president to be an incoherent babbling moron.

Take your GOP plan out of the witness protection program.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

No one could have predicted…

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

You can’t love your country only when you win.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

The arc of history bends toward the same old fuckery.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

If you’re pissed about Biden’s speech, he was talking about you.

A last alliance of elves and men. also pet photos.

Republicans don’t want a speaker to lead them; they want a hostage.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

Flame Warriors

FacebookTweetEmail

Since Tim’s useful and timely post below took two comments before a flame war broke out between me and Slide, we might as well have some fun with this.

Here is the flame warriors roster. Go through, laugh, and then decide who is who.

For example- Birdzilla.

This fits for me and Slide as well as me and PPGAZ (and PPGAZ and SCS):

In a perpetual personal feud, Duelists generally don’t menace anyone but each other, unless, of course, another Warrior foolishly gets between them. They may not even remember what started the fight, but not they cordially loathe one another and seize every to go at each other. When the other Warriors eventually weary of their endless kvetching the Duelists will be shouted down or Nanny will ban them. Even after getting the heave-ho from one forum, however, it is not unusual for them to seeking each other in other forums to renew their fight.

Have fun. Check your ego at the door on this one, folks.

*** Update ***

Tim ims me: Grunter.

Heh. Indeed.

Okay John, I come back after being gone for a few days and I see me in your posts. I do not agree. To be a duelist, it seems to me you have to want/try to continue the feud with another person. I don’t think I EVER addressed ppGAz at all, for various reasons which I have told him already. I have no interest in addressing him, ever. But in practically each post I am in, invariable he will jump in on me with a “you suck”, or “you’re a liar” or “you’re always wrong”, with nothing to back it up. Pretty much each and every goddamn time. So to act like we are in some equal feud is ridiculous. I have no desire and never did to ever address ppgaz in any way. I only respond to him addressing me, and usually not after the first time but after the second or third time he tries to harass me. To act like that is morally equivalent is a common human reaction to try and find right and wrong on both sides. In this case he is wrong, because he starts it each and every time. He seeks me out, for I believe more than political reasons. That is what a bully does and he should be called on it and not allowed to continue it here. I don’t think the proper response to it for you and Tim to try and make light of it.

And ppgaz, please feel free to respond here, as it is only fair since I brought you up – only in response to John’s comment, by the way. But I ask you nicely again, after this post do NOT ever address me again, and it goes without saying that I will not ever address you. I am not trying to squelch criticism, but lets face it, what you say to me has no value to the debate here. Don’t even bother, because what you think of me or say to me is of no interest to anyone else on here, and why burden the other readers with long irrelevant drivel that should be devoted to talking about the issues. Stick to the issues, not the irrelevant insults. As much as you may enjoy harassing me, and calling me a little girl, a high schooler and a beauty parlour receptionist, and comment on me sleeping with my teddy bear, try to think more about sparing the other readers than the selfish pleasure you derive from harassment. But if you ignore the rule, than I will have no choice than to go after you as well and pollute the blog with return endless juvenile insults. The choice is yours.
