Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

Innocent people don’t delay justice.

“That’s what the insurrection act is for!”

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

White supremacy is terrorism.

Second rate reporter says what?

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Bark louder, little dog.

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

In short, I come down firmly on all sides of the issue.

Thanks for reminding me that Van Jones needs to be slapped.

Ah, the different things are different argument.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

Let there be snark.

You don’t get rid of your umbrella while it’s still raining.

I just saw Serenity this past weekend. I was expecting to hate it but it was really good. The bad guy dude with the sword was a really good character.

Babylon 5? I ranked Babylon 5? That’s not even my favorite show! Dammit, I was aiming for The X-Files over here! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo

(So, what, now I have to dress up as a Narn at the cons? Sigh… another $160 down the drain…)

88% X-Files (Excellent, I just bough the first two seasons.)
88% Babylon 5 (never watched it)
Only 63% DS9 and Enterprise D, the only two shows I like more than The X-Files.
75% Millennium Falcon. Star Wars is probably my favorite thing ever.

    WOOOOO HOOOOO, too too terrific!

I’m in a 3-day tie, between Farscape, Matrix and Serenity.

My personal pref is Serenity – but apparently I’m insufficiently willing to kill, or I’m too worried about wormholes.

Still, that’s a great trinity (pun fully intended).

I will pick Serenity, thank you very much. I am a little prudish that way.

I have a feeling that Cowboy Bebop ranks low for most people.

I would probably be some sort of Deus ex Hacker/cook/Robot pilot (non-combat) on a spaceship that the writers trot out to allow anysort of crazy half-thought out plan to succeed. That and I would have on female member of the crew strangely attracted to me that I would be flustered to reciprocate. I probably would have a pet ferret/otter and my quarters would look like a server room.

You scored as Deep Space Nine (Star Trek).

You have entered the dark side of the Star Trek universe. The paradise of Earth is far from you and you must survive despite having enemies on all fronts. But you wouldn’t have it any other way because you thrive in conflict and will know what needs to be done to take care of those around you. Now if only the Founders would quit trying to take over the galaxy.

You scored as Moya (Farscape). You are surrounded by muppets. But that is okay because they are your friends and have shown many times that they can be trusted. Now if only you could stop being bothered about wormholes.

I tied with Farscape and Trek DS-9. My Battlestar Galactica was really low. All this is weird because I really like the new Galactica, like Farscape a lot, and really don’t like DS-9 much at all.

If I actually were going to sign on with any ship’s crew, it’d be the Enterprise D, hands down. Those were the sanest, most capable of the lot, and I’d really prefer to survive long enough to write my memoirs.

I’m going to have to check out Serenity, I don’t know what it is (or Moya either)

Rob – get the Firefly DVD set; you’re in for a real treat. You have to hang your sense of disbelief from the highest yardarm to buy some (most) of the central premises of the series, but it’s worth it!

I saw the movie, “Serenity,” and loved it when I saw it – but after thinking about it for a while, like it much less. The movie dispensed with most of the things that made the series so much fun.

Stormy and I have not agreed on a single post yet. But we have the same top three: Serenity, Farscape and Deep Space Nine. So sci-fi has nothing to do with poly-sci.

You scored as Babylon 5 (Babylon 5). The universe is erupting into war and your government picks the wrong side. How much worse could things get? It doesn’t matter, because no matter what you have your friends and you’ll do the right thing. In the end that will be all that matters. Now if only the Psi Cops would leave you alone.

    Moya (Farscape) 94
    Babylon 5 (Babylon 5) 94%
    Galactica (Battlestar: Galactica) 88%
    Bebop (Cowboy Bebop) 88%

I was aiming for Bebop. I like that show. And if I fit with Babylon 5, why did it list Moya first?

    Off Colfax

    February 15, 2006 at 3:56 pm

And here I got a perfect match for Bebop. 100%, even.

Next three were the FBI’s X-Files Division (X-Files) at 88%, and Deep Space Nine (Star Trek) and SG-1 (Stargate) tied at 81%.

And the Enterprise D? Classic burn at 25%.

Just pass the bell peppers and beef. Without the beef.
