I am not even slightly ashamed to admit I thought this was one of the funniest things I have seen in years.

Hmm. Maybe funny. But is that a reflection of real comedy, or just how bad comedy is today?
Maybe I’m just weird, but do people find the likes of Sandler and Chappelle funny like my generation saw Belushi as funny? I haven’t seen a comedy in 10 years that had more laughs than the worst 1979 SNL episode.

The Big Lebowski – amongst others – amply rises to the level of such an occassion.

Lebowski – ah, 1998. OK, so 8 years. Yeah, so there have been a few funny movies. But out of how many comedies?

“Hickory-smoked horse buttholes”?
May taste better than some of that stuff Tim drinks… I’ll get back to you on that.

I was laughing so hard I was in tears during Toy Story 2, and I’m not afraid to admit it.

For sheer comedy brilliance you have to turn to animated TV these days. I reccomend South Park, the “Trapped in the Closet” episode.
Or perhaps one of many one-liners from The Simpsons:
Mr. Burns: “Wait a moment! There’s a NEW Mexico?”
The Other Steve
It’s funny…
But it was about 45 minutes too long. HOLY CRAP!

Or “The Office”.

Has some moments.
Hmm. I think the Simpsons is a bit worn after 20 seasons.
I haven’t seen the American rip-off, but one episode of the UK version was enough for me. That reminded me of Office Space (1999), so maybe 7 years.

I had my doubts too, but it really is beautifully done. My Name is Earl also has some pretty good moments, particularly some of Randy’s lines.

My sentiments exactly. It’s like that Krusty skit on SNL where he has the huge ears and after the first ear joke, he goes, “This bit goes on for another 5 minutes.” or something to that effect.
Krista
I wish someone would compile a collection of the best lines/moments from the following characters:
Randy – My Name is Earl
Bobby – King of the Hill
Chris – Family Guy
Plus a few others of their ilk…
My favourite Chris line is “I’m so hungry I could ride a horse! Wait…that doesn’t make sense. Well, I could ride him to the store, I suppose…”
jg
Bobby – King of the Hill:
Did you smell the garbage today?
I’m drivin the hell put of this truck!
