Congrats to the Jags, who took down my Steelers by the score of 9-0. No excuses- they were just better. The Jags were a solid team last year, and they look to have picked up right where they left off. Good luck to them, and I hope we don’t see them in the playoffs.

Punchy
The Jags didn’t win this; Bennie couldn’t complete a pass when it mattered…unless the guy was wearing black and purple.
And someone has to finally hold Coach William responsible for not recognizing–or not caring–how rusty Worthlessberger was and to bring in Charles Batch at the start of the 4th. IF they would have opened up the pass with 6-7-yard slants and 15-yard fades…then Bill Parker woulda had much more room on the outside to gain yards AND get out of bounds for clock management. And from what I saw last week, Batch was more effective, more confident, and more skilled at getting those completions.
It will be very interesting to see how they respond next week. Another bad game, and Batch’s moniker will be all over the sports-radio airwaves…

“When it mattered,” of course, being “the entire fucking game.” His throws were terrible, absolutely. But the Jags also did a really good job, and even though Leftwich wasn’t all that great in this game, I think he’s a fairly underrated QB.
Tap, tap, Is this thing on?
I have to agree that Ben didn’t look very good during the game. Also, the Jag(offs) defence was awesome. I don’t think tho, that Charlie Batch should have been brought in. Ben still has a good deal of rust which will only wear off during real time play. He was hurried during most offensive drives and of course we don’t have our Bus to help convert for us. The fact that the only scores in the game were FG’s says alot about both teams defence. I haven’t been real impressed by the Steelers play this past week or during the pre-season, but hopefully Ben won’t have a fever when they play next week. Ok, ok, I may be talking out my *ss, but I am a Steeler fan, and I gotta love the team win or lose. Congrats to the Jags.
