Coming in from dialup at home so posting will be sparse. That said, let me extend a purple middle finger to the next former Senator from Pennsylvania. If it wasn’t Social Security it was Terry Schiavo and if it wasn’t theocratic idiocy it was the K street project. We won’t miss you, Rick.
***Update***
At least he gave a gracious concession speech.
***Update 2***
Looks like John got there first. Go comment on his thread while I fetch another beer.

Life is good.
And to John, let me formaly say after needling you mercilessly for more than a year, you helped make this happen. It can’t be hard to be this disallusioned by the party you grew up with.
Hope the future is brighter.
And to President George W. Bush, fuck you.
John Cole
I am hoping it is the first of many gracious speeches from the nutjobs like Santorum. It will be hard for the remnants of my party to claim it was us ‘moderates’ who blew up the GOP when all the nutters like Santorum are rejected.

Blackwell’s doing the “Kumbaya” routine now that he’s lost. I doubt he’d be saying the same if he won…

Santorum is gone. But santorum will be with some of us forever.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, mind you. I’m just saying.

Like I said in the other thread, early nominee for line of the night goes to a Sully emailer:

Dial-up, Tim? Seriously?
Tim in SF
What is this “dial up” you speak of?

I’m about to go from buzzed to hammered with this news of a House majority.
I’ve been incommunicado with all news all nite. Long story. Now I found out MUTHAFUCKING KANSAS just booted RYUN AND….AND….AND (I cannot stress what a huge upset this is to non-Kansans) Phill Klown.
Klown is out. Normalcy back to KS. Fucking unreal. Simply stunning. Must drink more. I feel like I just got laid by Nancy Pelosi…is this wrong?

Jeez, maybe I’m less generous than most but the bit of Santorum’s speech I heard didn’t quite qualify as ‘gracious.’ Saying that the local population is typically opinionated and makes good choices, but not so much tonight? It’s not exactly hate speech and I don’t expect him to be thrilled at the result but to me a good concession expresses personal disappointment, not chiding of the electorate. I didn’t like it in Lieberman and I don’t like it in Santorum.
