Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

T R E 4 5 O N

Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls 2 years from now.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

Make the republican party small enough to drown in a bathtub.

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

Humiliatingly small and eclipsed by the derision of millions.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

One way or another, he’s a liar.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

President Musk and Trump are both poorly raised, coddled 8 year old boys.

He wakes up lying, and he lies all day.

Come on, media. you have one job. start doing it.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

There are times when telling just part of the truth is effectively a lie.

Sorry folks- got to the parents house and couldn’t get my laptop to work, so I couldn’t make Christmas post.

At any rate, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas, John Cole and everyone else as well..or whatever holiday you choose. We had duck and I made up a new dressing, with homemade wheat bread, pecans, apricots, cherries and celery, onions, etc. It was sooooo good with the orange sauce on top.

Okay, it’s a little early, but I guess this is the first Merry Xmas of 2007.

As for the ppGaz entourage, we went out for Chinese food at the fabulous China Chili restaurant. Flounder with black bean sauce, lo mein with snow peas, orange chicken and sizzling rice soup.

    ¡Que comidas deliciosas!

FDDD, the demi-offspring, and I all had a pleasant Christmas, going nowhere, just staying home. Stan Rogers on the stereo in the newly refurbished family room…heaven.

Christmas is 12 days, so “Merry Christmas” posts aren’t belated until after Jan. 5th.

Merry, merry to everybody. I am now back from the family homestead, and feel like subsisting on nothing but apple juice and Metamucil for the next three days.
