    As already mentioned here, and as mentioned in varous threads for several weeks now since the advent of the so-called “pet food safety” issue, your food supply is not safe and the FDA can’t do much about it.

    I suspect that this is the tip of a very ugly iceberg.

    And you have to answer for yourself, at this point, what we are doing with a government that tries to pimp unwarranted fears of terrorists who would “follow us home” from Iraq if we pull out, but cannot provide even the most basic protections of your food supply, your water, your infrastructure. “Homeland security” is now officially a joke in this country.

    If you still think that the food ingredient train wreck is just about pet foods, then all I can say is, you haven’t been paying attention. It’s about just about everything you buy at the grocery store.

    You have a president who apparently thinks that the only standard he has to meet (according to today’s remarks) is that his cabinet officials don’t “break any laws.”

    Get it? As long as the “no controlling legal authority” defense can be made, we should back off and let these bumbling assholes run the country into the ground.

    My take was always that it was more of Bush’s big government conservatism at play. Of course it’s not suprising it was a democratic idea but it was still a stupid one as time has proven. Then again the republicans ran with it so it’s no wonder it hasn’t worked but I doubt it ever would have just given the job it had.

    Legal concealed carry weapon saves man’s life

    Damon Wells is the man gun supporters were imagining when they fought for the right to carry concealed weapons.

    He had a permit to carry his gun, and he had the gun on him when a pair of teenage thieves approached him Saturday night on his front porch in Cleveland.

    When one of the youths pulled a gun, Wells drew his and shot one of the boys several times in the chest, police said. Arthur Buford, 15, died after stumbling away and collapsing on a sidewalk near East 134th Street and Kinsman Road.

    City prosecutors decided Monday that Wells, 25, was justified and would not be charged for what appears to be the first time a concealed-carry permit holder has shot and killed an attacker.

    Note the response from the gun grabbers. It is not the fault of the kid who pulled a gun have he was shot.

    Toby Hoover, of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence, said she had not heard of any other fatal shooting involving a concealed-carry permit holder.

    “This is one of the few where they actually used it to stop a crime,” Hoover said.

    But, she said, “there’s still a dead kid here.”

    I’d guess if the VT killer had been stopped in beginning of his rampage by someone with a concealed carry permit, the narrative you would hear would be that a “poor disturbed young man was killed by a gun”.
