Very concerned GOP Congressmen edition.
Bush promises to compromise without agreeing to sacrifice anything, his party begs him to compromise without doing anything to might make him listen. They’re peas in a pod.

Its just political theater, so that their concerned constituents can see them in action. They basically promised Bush their support until September. When September looms, there will be more threats and promises but no real action. Why? In earlier votes Hugh Hewitt formed the Victory Caucus, promising a primary challenge to those in the GOP who voted with Pelosi. That may be why they have not voiced any real opposition, no matter how delusional the reports of progress have gotten.

GOP CONGRESSWEASEL: “Remember that one time I was all concerned and candid with the President?”
VOTERS: “I must have been watching American Idol (makes thumbs down sign).”

Haha! Who’s sucking it up from voter apathy now, bitches?!

Will Red State save the day?
Or will this become a discussion about how Democrats are worse?
Hmm…
chopper
red state, heh.
i love one of the posters talking about how the situation needs to be ignored, stating instead that they should be concerned about “the democrats defunding the war, the most precarious situation in the Middle East probably in history”.
which belies an incredibly ignorant grasp of the history of the middle east. jesus, you’d think with this choad the middle east came into existence in 1982.
this is red state in a nutshell. dummies, through and through.

When Republicans actually start voting to end the Iraq Fiasco – then I’ll become a believer. Until then, it’s just noise not worth paying any attention to.

Later in the election cycle, when a Lot of them realize they will not be re-elected, then they will change their minds. Not until then though. And it will probably be too late for a lot of them.
George Bush is accomplishing something the Dem’s never could have. He is destroying the Republican Party. The only thing I can see now that could bring it back would be if Hillary wins the nomination.
The Other Steve
I doubt it. The only Democrats who would give the Republicans a fight are the ones who aren’t serious about governing. Kucinich, Gravel and Edwards.
although Gravel would at least be funny

Kucinich isn’t serious about governing? WTF?
Whatever, watching the Republic party implode in my lifetime is even better than my last lifetime, when I was Julius Caesar.

Kucinich has the hottest wife, though. I think that having a sexy British First Lady is the most important need our nation desires in this day and age, and I fully expect the heterosexual male portion of the electorate to back a candidate who understsnds all this. Remember, this issue has wide bipartisan backing.

Kucinich is a giant walking left-wing stereotype, but he’s no more serious a political contender than Tancredo. He just voices rhetoric that is more sane and palettable to less conservative Americans than his evil Republican reflection.
But I think Kos wraps up the disilluionment of Kucinich the best.
That said, even if Hillary does win the nomination, it will be eight years too late to revive her boggywoman status. I, personally, don’t like her because she’s a Republican Lite candidate. But other than that, she hasn’t really done anything more sinister than triangulate like crazy. Sure, Limbaugh and FAUX News will have a field day with her and I’m sure Kerry supports might suffer a bit of deja vu with her flip-flopping and word-mincing, but its a woman and a black man as Democrats against Generic Old Whitty Republican during an intensely unpopular Republican war.
Just look at the fund-raising numbers. If Republicans can’t bring in the bling, that’s a damn good sign that they’re in hot water. Money will flood to the conservative Democrats and “centerist” DINOs, and Hillary will win the election in a landslide. Multi-choice Mitt or Multi-Wife Guiliani or Old Man McCain will just squander the nomination in a pathetic implosion of non-interest and the Republicans will make a cleaner, more serious run at the White House in ’12.

Not bad at all. Kucinich can offer hope to dweebs across the land. No wonder the little shit always has a goofy smile on his face.
I AM A SPOOF
Well, yeah. And about damned time, too — we haven’t had even a semi-hot First Lady since what … Jackie Ownasses?
That settles it, I’m voting Kucinich.
Zombie Santa Claus
Me, too. And this is why I’m voting for Brad Pitt if he ever runs. He’s got the hottest common-law wife in all of Hollywood…
