Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Biden: Oh no. We’ve upset Big Pharma again.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

Innocent people don’t delay justice.

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

Another missed opportunity for Jamie Dimon to just shut the fuck up.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

The Supreme Court cannot be allowed to become the ultimate, unaccountable arbiter of everything.

So many bastards, so little time.

The willow is too close to the house.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

Even though I know this is a bad idea, I’m off to do it anyway!

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Bark louder, little dog.

Republicans can’t even be trusted with their own money.

The Ignorance Party

Bush is set to veto only his third bill:

President Bush is set Wednesday to veto a bill that would have eased restraints on federally funded embryonic stem cell research, a White House spokesman said.

It will be only the third time the president has used his veto pen, and the second time to reject stem cell legislation.

Democrats, who made stem cell legislation a top priority when they took control of both houses of Congress in January, do not have enough votes to override a veto.

In his veto threat, the president accused Democrats of recycling an old measure that he already vetoed and argued that the bill would mean American taxpayers would – for the first time – be compelled to support the deliberate destruction of human embryos.

The decider believes in Gott. The decider therefore believes you should get to enjoy your diabetes.

The Dems may be confused, disoriented, and jumbled on many things, but they’re HAMMERING home this stem cell message. Make this fucker veto one of these every other month. Put out HUGE ads of soliders who may need the fruits of such research. Show old men with Parkinson’s.

I guess the Deciderator is pretty confident that stem cell research will never be of use in treating brain damage from alcoholism and chronic drug use.

What amazes me about Bushy and “the Religious Wrong” is that they’re fanatics for clumps of cells and brain-dead corpses but they couldn’t give a rat’s ass about people who actually exist and are currently alive.

I don’t know how you can say that. Every day I see the bumper stickers implporing me to make Jesus my savior, and to prepare for the Rapture. I feel very cared about.

How much more caring could they be than to urge me to be ready to disappear from my work and my loved ones without notice and float out of my car while it sits, still running on the expressway, and just bail out of here and join their special numbers headed for Club Heaven?

    That’s real caring, I think.

People who exist have a well-known liberal bias. Stems cells are a strong and dedicated GOP voting bloc.

Yeah! We red-meat eating Amuricuns want our tax dollars to go to supporting the deliberate destruction of fully formed humans, especially those who wear the uniform of the USMC, NG or Army!

You know, if signing statements are as binding as Georgie seems to think they are, why doesn’t he just take out his red pen and cross out the shit he doesn’t like?

Perhaps his signing statements aren’t really all that enforceable? Hmmmmmm.

Since I’m not a rapturist, I couldn’t tell you. Sorry.

I’m not expecting to go to any kingdom in the sky called Heaven. I think we find our own heaven right here on earth.

The decider therefore believes you should get to enjoy your diabetes.

Also, diabetes is God’s gift to you. Do you really want to “cure” yourself of God’s gift?

I can’t wait for The Decidertron to surround himself with “snowflake babies” while he accuses Democrats of political theater. That should be a good one.
