Of course there is, Tim! Mother Sheehan has decided to run for Congress!
ThymeZone
I see the peanut gallery is up to its usual “Jail Paris Hilton” standards today.
Great. The GOP is unraveling, 200+ killed in Iraq over the weekend, Mitch McConnell says the people have decided that Iraq wasn’t worth it …. and we have a post about Cindy Sheehan.
Sweet Jesus, MYM.
Tax Analyst
Against…(drum roll, please)…Nancy Pelosi!
(Cough…gasp)
Ummm…is there any truth to the rumor that John Cole is going to head up her campaign? We all know what a big fan of her’s he is. (snark)
Well, let me think…could “Amateur Hour” pull us out of all the various holes we’re in? That’s kind of a tough one, right?
Uh…no…
Tim F.
What’s this “we” stuff, wonder bread?
Dreggas
I saw that yesterday, about Sheehan, and banged my head on the desk repeatedly.
Tim F.
Great, now we do have a post about cindy sheehan. I blame demi “clippy” mondian.
ThymeZone
Oh yeah, of all the news over the weekend, this is the item we’d bang our heads about.
Oh yeah. Definitely.
Dreggas
Here’s something far better to talk about:
Amen
demimondian
Careful, Tim. I’m thinking of breaking into UR computer and inflicting a “clippit-merged-with-cindy” Office Assistant on you.
And disabling the “hide me” button.

TZ – It’s ALL head-banging material. I’ve always had a good deal of pessimism…it’s sort of an ingrained thing. My late mother used to say, “Cheer up, things could be worse…so I cheered up, and sure enough, things got worse”. It was only slightly tongue-in-cheek. She was always and remained to her dying day a “do-gooder”…even after she more or less gave up the rest of humanity. “Bleeding-Heart Liberal”…totally “unhip”, d’ya wanna make somethin’ of it? (j/k) Anyway, our current situation has vastly exceeded my WORST expectations and just seems to keep right on heading for this cliff. For a while it seemed surreal, but now it’s just the “status quo”…one that needs to be turned around somehow…
ThymeZone
Speaking of the Denver Post …..
ThymeZone
I always get a kick out of pessimists.
Apparently, being right half the time is not enough to cheer them up :-)

Dreggas – good link. It’s folks like John Koppel that give us a glimmer of hope. Thanks!

It’s like I tell my good friend, Norris (a constant complainer), “You’d complain if they hung you with a new rope.”

The Wire: Season Two wasn’t that bad.
Dreggas
Ok I can sleep easier at night but that is some damn good spoof.
HyperIon
TZ,
my favorite part:
how can a member of the Brownback campaign not know about blogsforbrownback? the mind boogles.
Dreggas
Actually I am pessimistic that way when things actually turn out good I am pleasantly suprised.

Sprint pimpslaps its customers into submission.
I wonder who DHS uses?
ThymeZone
It is amazing, isn’t it? You don’t know whether to laugh or cry at these hapless people, really.
Oh, and B4B is not spoof. I know spoof. Their attacks on heliocentrism are driven by pure passion and faith.
Cain
Dreggas,
But not for long right? Being a pessimist and all?
cain
Tax Analyst
well, that’s sort of how it works for me, too. Anything good is a “bonus”.
demimondian
I’m not sure about that. I think that the correct message to draw from B4B is that the evidence in favor of evolution is much stronger than the evidence for heliocentrism, and, therefore, someone who rejects macroevolution should also reject heliocentrism.
ThymeZone
Not THAT’S funny, my good man.
Psycheout
The Denver comPost is a worthless rag. The author of that hit piece against B4B didn’t bother to contact us for comment. You might want to read my response to Karen E. Crummy (a fake name if ever there was one):
Last Word on the Denver Post Smear.
I contacted the Brownback campaign (through their official website) months ago to let them know about the good work being done by Students for Brownback and Blogs 4 Brownback. I did this because their front page at the time had a section called Brownback on the Blogs which contained excerpts (but no links) from a couple of obscure blog entries which was never updated.
I suggested they either update the section or drop it altogether. It looked silly without updated content.
I did say that I understood if they didn’t link to either of our websites since there is a danger linking to sites where they cannot control the message.
I got no response. Oh, well.
I’m not surprised that the response was essentially no comment. Why add credibility to what was obviously a hit piece? How would it benefit the campaign?
Dreggas
Of course because there is always a catch (Note this frustrates my wife to no end because I always wonder just WHY she is being so nice to me).
Dreggas
but it’s only a bonus if it really is a bonus without strings which it never is.
HyperIon
so you are saying that a reporter who seems to think that your blog is a spoof (which many, many folks suspect) is trying to smear Brownback?
there are so many things on the inter-tubes that i do not understand.
Dreggas
Just take an ice pick, press to temple and push really hard then you’ll understand it.
ThymeZone
This thread = funny now!
I laugh!
Dreggas
LOL.
Psycheout
Hyperlon has an obvious reading comprehension problem. The smear job was against us, the citizen journalists and Brownback advocates at B4B. I can’t believe I have to explain this to you.
Perhaps you should try the icepick method described above.
Hint, above is ^^^^^ that way ^^^^^.
Psycheout
Furthermore, just because many folks mistakenly suspect something, that does not make it a fact.
I suspect you’re a mental vegetable, dribbling at the mouth and typing with your toes. I suspect someone scooped out your brain and replaced it with a live hamster.
But I’m not going to write an article about it and place it in the newspaper without perhaps asking someone who knows you or interviewing you myself.
But in the reality based community, if someone feels something, it must be true. And fit for print. I wouldn’t even wrap my fish with this libelous trash.
Karen E. Dummy made no attempt to contact US, when the object of her ridicule is our blog. That’s a smear job, pal.
Wilfred
Here’s Michael Savage, core member of the Brownback constituency and who is not a spoof, today:
This got picked up by an Egyptian newspaper and will shortly show up in the Iraqi press. Real American values for real Americans
HyperIon
i was just asking….
so THIS is a smear? like i said:
Psycheout
Sigh. I guess you haven’t read my post or any of our rebuttals. Ignorance is bliss, it seems, in the ‘reality-based’ community.
ConservativelyLiberal
Senator David Vitter (R-LA), used the DC Madam’s escort service? Wow, another hypocrite. Religious too! God and wife have forgiven him, so no harm, no foul. Nothing to see here, move along, move along…
Of course, in May, ABC said that after perusing the list they had found no ‘noteworthy’ names, so they would not be outing anyone.
I wonder if Vitter thinks that he is not noteworthy. I would bet otherwise, but in this case I think he was glad that he got the heads up from ABC. Makes it easier to confess to the wife and church and be forgiven though…
jake
Shorter M. Savage: Waaaah! I can’t see her boobies!
Tax Analyst
Poor Psycheout is misunderstood…boo-hoo…and from his remarks I gather that he and those other “citizen journalists” have unfairly smeared in an ugly and vicious manner by the Denver Post…or so he claims…
…I’ve never looked at the site, but I can tell from his posts here that “Psycheout” has NEVER, EVER smeared anyone in a post…
YAWN…but I heard somewhere once or twice, maybe, that “What goes around comes around”…or something like that.
But perhaps we are all just too dazzled by his brilliance to truly understand.
HyperIon
the denver post “journalist” does not take you seriously. many people do not take you seriously. they have come to this conclusion based on what you write and what your commenters write. that you would label this a smear IMO lends credence to the idea that you should not be taken seriously.
so what IS your position on heliocentrism?
Chad N. Freude
It’s a hoot. Well worth reading if you have nothing better to do, like scratching your butt.
(Actually, it’s pretty funny, but it’s impossible to tell whether their proposal to eat Irish babies is serious or not.)
