Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

I did not have this on my fuck 2022 bingo card.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

The revolution will be supervised.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the GOP

T R E 4 5 O N

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

We still have time to mess this up!

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Presidents are not kings, and Plaintiff is not President.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

People are complicated. Love is not.

Let’s delete this post and never speak of this again.

Passive Tense

by Tim F|  July 27, 20073:51 pm| 23 Comments

This post is in: Media, General Stupidity

FacebookTweetEmail

The Washington Post replies to the Clinton campaign using an earlier story on Clinton’s cleavage as the basis for a fundraising letter:

Stories about the appearance of candidates, from Al Gore’s earth-tones wardrobe to John Edwards’s $400 haircut to a bathing-suit shot of Barack Obama in a People spread on “Beach Babes,” have long been an entertaining sideshow.

How about that. Media figures tend to swoon around Republicans (Romney’s laser-cut jaw and broad shoulders, Thompson has a manly funk) but stories about Democrats always seem to revolve around being image-conscious fakes. Beltway habitues like Kurtz probably don’t even realize it when they pursue stories that just reinforce their own prejudices.

Look, I don’t think I have ever placed any demands on you, or ever censored you, or ever asked you to do anything, but for the love of GOTT im HIMMEL, no more posts about Hillary’s tits.

Wow. NINE posts today. You boys have really outdone yourself.

So as not to threadjack, I’ll add this–Hillary aint bad looking for her age. Thank the lord Janet Reno isn’t running.

Final Hillary question–can she tap her hubby as Vice? Is that allowed, being that they are from diffent states as required, or not?

And seriously, even from a strictly superficial sense, what the hell does this say about the media’s judgement. Fred Thomas – the guy with the crypt keeper physique, Mitt Romney – the plastic man, Rudy Guiliani – ugly, John McCain – old AND ugly? These are your playboys of the Republican Primary? Really?

It’s just so lame. Like watching the North Korean News Agency pimp some story about Kim Jong-Il’s giant package. The Emperor has no clothes, kids. Run along.

I think this says more about the media and public’s obsession with tabloid journalism more than anything else really.

    Real news died years ago.

Jeezus, Jon. I think you’ve even beaten Greenwald on long blog posts. How long can you pontificate about breasts?! (assuming you’re the same Jon Swift as the page you linked to)

There was an article in the Oregonian about Hillary’s breast. Or rather why it’s a silly discussion. It is a silly discussion.

That said, I know that breasts emboldens not only our enemies but all men too. I’m feeling embolden right now!

Well, the truth finally comes out at RedNeckState! In a thread talking about Fredo Thompson, the member ‘bs‘ had this to say about RS:

This forum is NOT indicative of the real world outside.

Priceless! RedNeckState member ‘bs‘ must have missed the daily dose of kool-aid over there. I like how he specifically delineates RS from the ‘real world’.

Wow, a rare moment of wingnut honesty. Better up the kool-aid dose!

I have some advice for the Washington Post, just a little something I’ve learned over the years.

Most women don’t like it if you stare at their boobs when talking to them.

    That is all.

    Eww…that just sounds really unappetizing.

Most women don’t like it if you stare at their boobs when talking to them.

True. But if she’s obviously put some effort into gettin’ the puppies out there for show (especially if she put that effort in on YOUR behalf), then an appreciative glance is not unwelcome.

[…] Once again the media is obsessing over Hillary Clinton’s mammaries. Only this time it’s because Clinton herself has decided to use the shtick as a teat for suckling some cleavage cash. Wingers are going gaga over the gazonga grab, though personally I just think they want an excuse to bring up the Clinton’s sex life again. And I would have to agree with Tim F. that the media’s excuse for why these types of stories are deserving of attention borders on the imbecilic. How about that. Media figures tend to swoon around Republicans (Romney’s laser-cut jaw and broad shoulders, Thompson has a manly funk) but stories about Democrats always seem to revolve around being image-conscious fakes.
