Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

There are consequences to being an arrogant, sullen prick.

Books are my comfort food!

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

People are complicated. Love is not.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Anne Laurie is a fucking hero in so many ways. ~ Betty Cracker

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

Wake up. Grow up. Get in the fight.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

One lie, alone, tears the fabric of reality.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

Human rights are not a matter of opinion!

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Remember the line of thinking that went “it’s bad to let criminals join the military because they might learn things to use when they get out?

This was a top story on the local news last night

Since 2003 there have been 125,000 recruits taken into the military with criminal backgrounds. The FBI is calling it a threat to city police and national security…think about that.

Wow, it’s good to see that AmericaBlog, Kos, Drum, Swift, TOM, CPR, etc have all seen the light and are now Center to Right blogs.

Some ends are very much in sight, unhappily. According to this there have been 116 suicides in Iraq. That compared to a total of 382 for the entire Vietnam war, when there were far more soldiers in country at any given time, experiencing more combat with less resources (psychological help). What gives?

I would like to know what our resident military troll “Cassidy” thinks about this?

snark….it’s all propoganda put out there by the defeatists in the MSM. /snark

In seriousness, this has been going on for ages, the Mexican Mafia sent people into the military to get trained and I’m sure they weren’t the only ones.
