So many great clips and you picked this one? C’mon John, watch the freaking show!
Lesse, Schwety Balls, More Cow Bell, Buckwheat’s Been Shot, Richard Pryor’s Word Association Test, Coneheads, Killer Bees, Samurai Laundry, Cheeseburger Cheeseburger, Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood, the list goes on and on.
That’s not even the best Martin Short clip.

Eddie Murphy singing Kill the White People is the funniest SNL clip ever.
Garrett Morris’ “I’m gonna get me a shotgun” song was better, IMO. Personally, I’ve been partial to their commercials. Schmitt’s Gay with Farley and Sandler was pretty funny. I’ll add another vote to “Cow Bell”, too.
Come on, no love for the Land Shark? And I’m sure there’s plenty of good nuggets in the vast wasteland that was SNL in the ’80s. (Remember the one with Reagan as the geopolitical idiot savant?)
Or, for that matter, how about Will Ferrell as W in 2000? Hell, the man gave us “strategery” for fuck’s sake.

The greatest ever was Phil Hartman as Reagan the mastermind, but I’ve never been able to find it online.

Alec Baldwin playing a soap opera doctor – I have rarely laughed as hard.

C’mon guys — for absolute painful funny, nothing can touch Mr. Bill. Check out http://www.mrbill.com/
Remember the one with Reagan as the geopolitical idiot savant?
Actually, the joke was that Reagan’s senilty was all a cunning mask, and he was really a hypercompetent superman.
The one that will always stick with me is Will Ferrell, back in 2000, doing a “see-the-future” sketch in the Oval Office which depicted George W. Bush’s America of 2007 with frightening pinpoint accuracy.
paul
totally agree. My buddies and I have said “I’m not that *strong* a swimmer” or “Hey you, I know you.” For years.
norbizness
Best Simpsons’ store name based on an SNL- and voice-actor who regularly appears on the show: a salon called ‘Hairy Shearer’s.’
Fred
Only time Martin Short was funny.

You’re gonna want some more cowbell

Might have to agree with mattski there, that may indeed be the funniest clip ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_PILVkA0MY

“I’m not that strong a swimmer”
I’ve used that so many times while swimming, or while watching someone else swim. They look at me funny, but I laugh every time!
Michael Demmons
Possibly. But the best Simpson’s store front of all time? That would be “Habitat for Huge Manatees“
Cassidy
No votes for “I’m the only gay Eskimo”?
Tragedy….

My vote goes to Space:The Infinite Frontier.

That’s a good one but the best skit in years is “Sofa King”.

The best Simpsons storefront was when they were walking through Chinatown and passed “Toys ‘L’ Us”
