In the current deathmatch between Michelle Malkin and Geraldo Rivera, I can’t figure out who to support.

I think I will root for injuries.

Shrieking, slobbering, scratching, then more shrieking slobbering, scratching; followed by wild animalistic copulation ending with Malkin devouring Rivera to feed their upcoming offspring.

Sick, but brilliantly on the mark!

    From her comments:

One thing consistent with liberals is they ARE what they claim their enemies to be. He calls M vile and hateful… an apt description of his desire to spit on her.

Geraldo is now a liberal. I did not know when this happened, but I wonder if Faux News knows about this.

What I wouldn’t give to see Malkin air her cheerleader video on one of her O’Reilly substitution episodes….

    I’m rooting for Geraldo.
It was 30 years ago, but he was a prize-winning investigative reporter in NYC. Broke a story, IIRC, on the appalling conditions of mental health hospitals. He’s career has taken a wrong turn since then, but he’s still got some karma points from me.
Malkin, OTOH, dressed as a cheerleader to make a political point, but still demands to be taken seriously.

The simple thing is to read what Geraldo said:

“Michelle Malkin is the most vile, hateful commentator I’ve ever met in my life,” he says. “She actually believes that neighbors should start snitching out neighbors, and we should be deporting people.

Which is about as debatable as “You should brush your teeth”.

Well, I’d do Malkin if she was gagged and couldn’t talk, but I wouldn’t touch Geraldo with a 10 ft pole. Homey don’t play dat!

    It’s like the Iran-Iraq War.

So in imitation of Rumsfeld and the Reagan administration, I guess I should be supplying Geraldo with tobacco and maybe some chemical weapons.

I can understand that, but he gave all those karma points back during the Katrina coverage when he had an old woman walk to a helicopter twice because he didn’t like the original shot. I’m hoping that Geraldo and Malkin react with each other in such a way as to cause them both to be struck dumb and lose the ability to type.

Most of her post seems to be about how rich Geraldo is. I don’t understand. Is she a communist now? Since when do people on the right get upset about how much money people make? Isn’t that what the market is all about?

    You did.

“I’d do Malkin if she was gagged and couldn’t talk.”

If she couldn’t talk, and couldn’t give consent, that sounds like rape to me.

Why is that funny to you?

    Bonnie,

Don’t be such a downer on a funny thread. The man was clearly referring to kinky sexual relations where Malkin could use some safe sign to stop him, like maybe a Nazi salute which I’m sure she would be fine with.

My favorite comment from the thread at Malkin’s is comment 65:

On September 1st, 2007 at 1:10 pm, TMoney said:

I’m beginning to wonder about Geraldo’s immigration status. Maybe his middle name is ‘Anchor’.

TMoney has missed something about Ms. Malkin, I think.

    Hm. That’s a novel explanation.

It’s also really stretching it, as the original comment said nothing about kinkiness or any safe sign.

In any case, since you called this a “funny” thread, the question remains: Why is rape funny?

    Wow!
I’ve been reading this fine blog for almost a year now, (being a total lurker all the while); and its finally come to this…I feel compelled to defend Geraldo! Amazing what haters are posting on Michelle’s site; I’m actually rooting for this woman to have her ass kicked and spit on by America’s original trash journalist… could we have pay-per-view?

    “Hm. That’s a novel explanation.

It’s also really stretching it, as the original comment said nothing about kinkiness or any safe sign.”

It also said nothing about force or rape, just that she was wearing a gag (plenty of “normal” are into all sorts of completely consensual kink). To be honest though, even the implication of the gag without further context is kind of icky but I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a “rape-joke” yet. Perhaps the original author should be given a chance to clarify.

    “Why is rape funny?”

The psychologist Freud answered that it was a way to reduce tensions over things we felt uncomfortable about, people tend to joke more about serious issues. For example, doctors routinely make jokes about their patients to relieve the stress of working in life or death situations.

And George Carlin pointed out rape can be funny, think of Daffy Duck raping Porky Pig. It’d be hysterical. Dead baby jokes, “Don’t drop the soap” prison jokes, and racist jokes can be funny, but in real life, they’d be horrible. Hence we joke about them to alleviate the painfulness of them, unless you like thinking about depressing things all the time. Same way we say “excrement” instead of “shit”, because one is medical and refers to it in a clinical setting, the other is impolite because it refers to feces in all its uses. Read Stephen Pinker if you’re interested more in this subject. If we can get past the derailment…

I love that Malkin can act tough on screen. “Kill all people at Guatanomo, no rights for Americans, watch me stalk a twelve year old boy and his family…” But then, “Wait, somebody said something mean about me? WAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! DADDY O’REILLY, MAKE THE BAD MAN STOP!” And, she tops it off by saying, “Well, if you really love me, go visit my website and read my blog.” Outstanding. She threw a temper tantrum, left, and went to her room to tell her friends how mean people can be.
