Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

White supremacy is terrorism.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

You’re just a puppy masquerading as an old coot.

Every decision we make has lots of baggage with it, known or unknown.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. keep building.

Republicans: “Abortion is murder but you can take a bus to get one.” Easy peasy.

This year has been the longest three days of putin’s life.

Bad people in a position to do bad things will do bad things because they are bad people. End of story.

Sadly, media malpractice has become standard practice.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

Dumb motherfuckers cannot understand a consequence that most 4 year olds have fully sorted out.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Let the trolls come, and then ignore them. that’s the worst thing you can do to a troll.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

I will bet every dollar I own, that–despite THIS sentence:

The deadly virus itself was never present in the laboratory

tomorrow’s headlines will read “EBOLA SCARE IN THE HEARTLAND: DEADLY VIRUS NOT SECURED”

Meanwhile, it’s Thursday nite, which calls for a few beers and the undergrad bar scene. Booyah.

    Alright John,

Niners vs. Steelers this weekend. How about a bet.

Niners win, you make a $5-$10 donation to MoveOn. Steelers win, I’ll make the same to…whatever you choose.

    or…think of something better?

More Dumbass Headlines: La. Protests Hark Back to 50’s, 60’s.

Except, they don’t, and the reporter is an idiot.

However, the story does serve as a reminder that Martin Luther King, Jr. is dead and the poseurs trying to fill his shoes hark back to toddlers clomping around in daddy’s work boots.

BAGHDAD – American convoys under the protection of Blackwater USA resumed on Friday, four days after the U.S. Embassy suspended all land travel by its diplomats and other civilian officials in response to the alleged killing of civilians by the security firm.

A top aide to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had earlier conceded it may prove difficult for the Iraqi government to follow through on threats to expel Blackwater and other Western security contractors.

    Punchy, did you catch this?

The researcher, Yoshi Kawaoka, a professor of virology in the School of Veterinary Medicine, said he immediately moved the research to a Canadian lab with higher security after the NIH said the UW-Madison laboratory was not secure enough for the research.

A Canadian lab, outside the jurisdiction(my ass) of the NIH. :-)

    WAIT! WAIT EVERYBODY!

Wire Tapping does work in helping find Treasonous snakes.

The FBI, working with an Alaska oil contractor, secretly taped telephone calls with Sen. Ted Stevens as part of a public corruption sting, according to people close to the investigation.

Do you think they had a court order? Or did they really need one? After all if Senator Stevens had nothing to hide…

Stevens has a wide stance on business relationships, therefore there is no underlying crime.

Do the Republican candidates realize they’re actually PUSHING Hillary into the White House???

Fred Thompson (introducing his wife): “She would make a much better first lady than Bill Clinton.”

Mitt Romney (about his wife): “she is a much prettier first lady than Bill Clinton…”

Way to go, boys… keep reminding the American public that if they vote for Hillary that they will also have one of the most popular presidents in recent times back in the White House and back in (or standing side-by-side with) power. That will get those voters turning Republican! After all, if you gave the public the choice of Ann Romney, Judith Nathan, Jeri Thompson, or Bill Clinton having the president’s ear 24/7, which would they choose…

*sigh* They just don’t see their own stupidity, do they?

sigh They just don’t see their own stupidity, do they?

Shhhhhh! If they want to do it, don’t stop them.

It’s human nature to assume the rest of the country thinks like you do. We liberals probably sometimes over-estimate the degree to which the country opposed the war. And it’s probably difficult for conservatives who can’t stand Clinton to let in how popular he was and is.

And yes, asterisks are bold face; I discovered it the same way.

Also, when Fred Thompson said that, he was speaking to his base where it probably will help him. He probably won’t make the same joke if nominated, come the general election.
