Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

Let’s delete this post and never speak of this again.

Busy. (I thought about writing something super corny, like “Busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest,” but thought that was just too cheesy).

Oh. And all that stuff about us not “legalizing” torture? Lies. But then again, we are facing an enemy who wants to ass rape us to death, so I guess we need to do a little torture.

Consider this your open thread before I start whining about the MAC again.

Seriously…it’s not an acronym. It’s a “Mac.” You’re one of us now, so you’d better start taking instruction from the hivemind. Jobs will be very displeased with you…

I thought the one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest was useless, not busy. Or was useless the one about teats on a bull? Anyway, maybe you are just standing around getting your ass kicked and calling that “busy.”

With all these lies and falsehoods coming from the white house, can’t we sue the SOBs for fraud or misrepresentation or something?! Just anything! Can’t the citizenry hold these bastards directly responsible when it becomes obvious that the other parts of the checks and balances of the government refuse to respond?

Which is why I was talking about Miami University in the MAC (as in Mid America Conference) in the last thread, but I guess the humor was too subtle, because he still can’t quit pressing the SHIFT key.

A man who confesses to singing Huey Lewis & the News is worried about being cheesy?

Uh, yeah. Just contact the Attorney General, and I’m sure he’ll start drawing up the papers on that right away. We can bring it all the way up to the SCOTUS, where it can be ruled in a 5-4 decision that the American citizenry can go fuck itself.

Remember back when Janet Reno had to sit down and decide whether she was going to investigate the President on a bunch of phoney bullshit charges the Republican smear merchants cooked up? Isn’t it so much easier now that we don’t even have an AG now that he’s resigned in disgrace? God bless America.

Let’s keep the politics out of our Mac blog, M’kay?

You’ve had your two MACINTOSH blogs, we want a political blog. :-p

Yeah, I think “MAC” (all caps) is the makeup (as in MAC cosmetics). Mac is the Macintosh computer. “Once you go Mac, you never go back”.

Apropos of nothing, looks like the white house is lying to coverup the “lost” emails. I do like that the lawyer likely perjured himself. Good times. Republican legal experts seem astonishingly ignorant of the law (see John Yoo’s unitary executive for a stunning example).

Do these fools think no one will figure them out? Or are they just trying to deflect attention until the “clock” is run out (and they can all get presidential pardons at the last minute).

No, they just don’t think anyone will have the stones to do anything about it. And why not? So far, no one has.

“MAC” is Media Access Control, as in “MAC address”, the unique (at least it’s supposed to be) ID that your network card has.

    “Mac” is Macintosh.

    Sad, but true.

If the Republicans can censure Bill Clinton for (depending on how you read it) lying about an affair, certainly we can do that to Bush, Gonzalez, Cheney, etc. for lying to Congress, investigators and the American people about everything (torture, justification for Iraq war, illegally using RNC email system to get around records keeping laws, etc).

I think Democrats need to realize they no longer need to “convince” Americans that the Democratic policies/proposals are the “right ones”. Poll after poll shows the people already agree with the Democrats (on Iraq, gay marriage, healthcare, the environment, etc).

Dems just need to grow a pair and stop backing down, ever. It’s one thing to hammer Republicans on a trivial issue like the Rush Limbaugh thing. Just imagine how much support Dems will gain if they really hammered Republicans on things like vetoeing the expansion of SCHIP (an issue that actually matters to lots of people).

Never back down, never apologize and keep telling people the Republicans are lying, cheating, uncaring fucks. That’s the one thing Democrats can learn from Republicans. I hope Democrats use that lesson on shit that matters, though, not demonizing fundies or whatever (no matter how much they deserve it).

MAC also refers to the Metropolitan Airports Commission which operates MSP airport.

I assume this is yet another dig at Larry Craig. Bastard!

But then again, we are facing an enemy who wants to ass rape us to death, so I guess we need to do a little torture.

That’s the thing that amuses me to no end: the constant chest-thumping about how the US is this indefatigable nation of manly-men who have the ability to bend other nations to their will; yet, the strength of your culture is so weak that granting any concessions to American Muslims will immediately and irrevocably lead to Sharia law and beheadings in your country.

I was listening to a bit on the radio this morning about US evangelicals in Israel. Talked about how much they love Israel, blah blah blah. “missionary” work has been increasing considerably in Israel.

Then they interviewed some Israelis, and one women said the worry was, if you spoke to these crackpots for more than 10 minutes, they’d start in on their ranting about how the Jews all had to convert to Christianity.

We might be approaching a point where Israel wants nothing to do with the United States. All thanks to the fundies. :-)

The GOP has always been this way. My favorite is about Saint Reagan.

“Communism doesn’t work and never will.”

“If it hadn’t been for Saint Reagan the world would be communist.”

Yet their brains don’t explode from the cognitive dissonance.
