Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

Keep the Immigrants and deport the fascists!

Trump should be leading, not lying.

This fight is for everything.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

I don’t recall signing up for living in a dystopian sci-fi novel.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

One way or another, he’s a liar.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

White supremacy is terrorism.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

Let there be snark.

Wow, I can’t imagine what it was like to comment in morse code.

They were going to turn on one another at some point. It was inevitable.

Today’s gop: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

People identifying as christian while ignoring christ and his teachings is a strange thing indeed.

Giving up is unforgivable.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Their freedom requires your slavery.

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

Whatever happens next week, the fight doesn’t end.

Let’s Pile On The Sick Kid

Heh.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s spokesman acknowledged yesterday that he alerted reporters last week to questions bloggers raised about the financial circumstances of a 12-year-old boy Democrats had used to urge passage of an expanded children’s health insurance program.

Double heh:

[A] Senate Republican leadership aide” suggested GOP aides were “complicit in spreading disparaging information about the Frosts.

ThinkProgress has obtained an email that congressional sources tell us was sent to reporters by Sen. McConnell’s communications director Don Stewart.

On Monday morning, Don Stewart reportedly sent an email with the following text to reporters:

“Seen the latest blogswarm? Apparently, there’s more to the story on the kid (Graeme Frost) that did the Dems’ radio response on SCHIP.

Damn. Wouldn’t it be embarrassing if…

Republicans on Capitol Hill, who were gearing up to use Graeme as evidence that Democrats have overexpanded the health program to include families wealthy enough to afford private insurance, have backed off.

An aide to Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, expressed relief that his office had not issued a press release criticizing the Frosts.

Gotta love the chutzpah.

***Update***

First off, the old saw that great minds think alike is rubbish. One defining feature of a great mind is that it doesn’t think like any other. So fine, whatever, maybe I won’t win the Nobel. But WHERE ARE AL GORE’S CAT PICTURES?! We’re smart in ways that count.

Well clearly, it wasn’t a press release, it was just an e-mail. Everybody knows there’s a difference.

We’re smart in ways that count.

McConnell’s office also expressed relief he had not:

    1) Been caught in a bathroom soliciting gay sex

    2) Been accused/convicted of being bribed by Abramoff or Norquist

    3) Issued anti-semitic remarks on national TV

    4) Been found dead with a condom-covered dildo up his twice-wet-suit-covered ass.

    Thought this image was great.

Anyone want to bet that the same wingnuts who think that showing pictures of abortions (or using pictures of stillbirths and claiming they were abortions, but whatever) is A-OK are going to start claiming that showing pictures of the Frost kids actual injuries is “beyond the pale”?

A little bit of activism could go a long way here. Huffington Post has a target list for reps who need to be flipped on the issue. If your rep is on the list, think about giving ’em a call.

And I’m also working with FamiliesUSA to spread word about this TV ad created for the effort to overturn the veto. If you like it, feel free to send it around and help get some attention for the issue.

Sorry Interrobanger, but with our state pushing a measure (50) to raise cigarette taxes 81 cents a pack this next election, and the feds pushing their increase for S-CHIP, we have already contacted our congressman and senator to tell them that while the plan to cover kids who need it is good, paying for it out of the pockets of a minority of the population is flat out unfair. Fat chance we stand, but we had to state our opposition.

The SCHIP bill funding is unfair. Most smokers are lower income working class people, and they are being asked to shoulder the whole burden for the nation. 18% of the people in our state are smokers, and they are being asked to pay for the whole program in Measure 50. Also, never mind that though Measure 50 is to be for child health plans in the state, there is a nice provision that gives the state a $65 million blank check every year, to be spent as they see fit. They just had to sneak that in there too.

Sure I bet it is popular. Who wouldn’t be for a tax that they will not have to pay? This is just a move to use the majority to roll over the minority.

    No sale.

    Oh, and regarding McConnell’s man:

Are you trying to tell me that when a Republican says something is either so or not so, then they are wrong? That is not the case!

Remember, reality is what a Republican says it is. They are masters of reality. They create the reality so we can study it and learn from them. We only have facts and hard evidence. They control the reality.

Don’t shatter the illusion. The Grand Illusion…

    ;)
