sorry John, but you can’t reclaim the mantle of “conservative” for the few sane former war-hawks who have seen the light. “Conservative” has to bear some relationship to the people who are considered “conservative” in government — and since they are all pretty much batshit crazy, the choice has to be Red State, or LGF, or Malkin, or…..

It’s interesting to read the reasons for some of the nominations. “The best place to bash liberals” or some such thing. Especially DU liberals. An obscure blog whose sole existence to is to bash an another fringe site. I guess that might be the definition of “conservative” to some.
Or the one, I foget which, which focuses on “Islamofascism” and “liberals”…
I love Belgravia Dispatch…

My votes. You has them.
Balloon Juice. It has a flavor.
(Last post I ever make here in LOLCat.)

I don’t understand how balloon juice can be conservative. This site is definitely not a socially conservative site. I don’t find it to be a fiscally conservative site given the support of SCHIP and other elements.
The ideology of the site tends to be defined more by opposition. Opposition to the activist right wings blogs, Bush and others. But defining yourself by your enemies doesn’t mean there’s a core set of beliefs in this blog.
Sure it’s easy to hammer Bush and the R’s for them abandoning the small government conservatism of Armey. But then Cole seems to believe that SCHIP expansion is fine. That’s a moderate view and is quite opposed to the principle positions of small government conservatives.

hederman…if you read Cole you’d see that he doesn’t support SCHIP, but is opposed to the treatment of the Frost family.
Tim F.
Cole doesn’t support SCHIP. He thinks it is inevitable and therefore a stupid hill for Republicans to die on.

Isn’t Blogs 4 Brownback a parody site?
I mean, it’s got to be…right?

The scary thing is that we have to stop and ask ourselves..’Is this one real or a spoof?”

I wasn’t nominated, so I don’t care.
And yes, those grapes are kind of sour–how did you know?

…it’s a spoof, right? Seriously, I couldn’t tell.
