Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

‘Museums aren’t America’s attic for its racist shit.’

Republicans would impeach Biden if he bit into a whole Kit Kat rather than breaking the sections apart.

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

Israel is using food as a weapon of war. Unforgivable.

Another missed opportunity for Jamie Dimon to just shut the fuck up.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Dead end MAGA boomers crying about Talyor Swift being a Dem is my kind of music. Turn it up.

He wakes up lying, and he lies all day.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

I really should read my own blog.

Come on, man.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

Dog the Negro Hunter

Duane “Dog” Chapman, who makes an ass of himself on A&E on a regular basis, has really stepped in it this time:

A&E has suspended production on its hit reality series Dog the Bounty Hunter in light of some—to put it mildly—racially insensitive remarks its star looks to have made during a phone conversation with his son Tucker, a recording of which was duly posted online by The National Enquirer.

Now, when you hear “The National Enquirer,” you are immediately skeptical, but I heard this tape:

“I’m not taking a chance…not because she’s black but because we use the word n—– sometimes here. I’m not going to take any chance ever in life of losing everything I’ve worked for 30 years because some drunken n—– heard us say n—– and turned us into the Enquirer magazine…I’m not taking that chance at all never in life. Never…”

Oooops, sorry, the Enquirer got the tape. What. A. Racist. Bigot. It always amazes me that there are still people like this. There’s no place for anything like that ever. Oh! His statement:

“My sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language,” he continued. “I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a hateful term in a private phone conversation.

“I was disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character. However, I should have never used that term.”

Got that? He wasn’t disappointed that his son was dating a black person. He was disappointed that his son had a black friend. Huge difference. Yeah. Explains why he didn’t want to go to jail in Mexico though. He probably would have been more comfortable in a lily white jail. What a shithead. I hope his son disowns him.

And kudos to A&E for immediately pulling him off the air!

Honestly, the man’s got nothing against niggers, it’s just that when there’s niggers around he wants to say nigger, and he can’t help himself, and niggers really hate it when you say nigger.

    Damn liberal media…

That is one of the clearest cases of actual, 100%, honest-to-goodness irony I have seen in a long while. Vote Manlove for Congress thing was close, but this tops that. Excellent!

Where is his freedom of speech? You should not be allowed to shut him down by making him lose his job because he exercised his civil rights! it is all mob rule and political correctness run amok here! He is taking responsibility and apologizing but the left blogs are literally lynching him.

I’ve never seen the show, but golly, what a surprise that a member of the honorable and ever-so-diplomatic bounty hunting trade would turn out to be a loose cannon! What’s next, realtors and car dealers who are less than completely honest about their wares?!?!?

Me too. BUT, I really believe that, in order to get people’s attentionm you need to say it like it is. The word N***er doesn’t have the effect of using the actual word.

Use it. But only use it critically.

I say the ni##er girl friend is better off without this bunch of clowns. If not on cable, this WHITE TRASH FAMILY wouldn’t even be accepted by their trailer park association. Dog and his wife are pieces of sh#t and look even worse in person. As the “brown skins” would say, “Pinche Gringos Estupido”.

BTW, anybody whose never watched the show…

Dog always had a picture of a smiling George W Bush hanging behind him when he was at his desk.

Watching bounty hunter was one of my guilty pleasures when I had A&E. I’m quite familiar with the show. The son always struck me as the smart one out of the bunch.

I admit I watched the show last Fall when nothing was on t.v. I was extremely bothered by the fact that they were constantly talking about how they were born again and made a big show of praying before going out to bust people. There’s Beth half naked and they’re using his scantily clad daughter as bait and the whole time he’s crying crocodile tears talking about how Jesus Christ gave him a second chance in life and really that’s all he’s trying to do for these people and he hates when they go astray.

I often find that the people who make the biggest show of their religious goodness are the ones that are heading for the biggest trip.

he’s perfectly within his right to say what he said. and the enquirer is perfectly within their right to print it, and A&E is perfectly within their right to drop his show.

You left out the funniest part:

Chapman said, “My sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language. I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a hateful term in a private phone conversation.”

Chapman said the clip was completely taken out of context.

Yes, out of context. In context, he was expressing his respect and love of all things ebony. Out of context, of course, it erroneously comes across as a racist screed.

    Stay classy, Dog.

So. He didn’t want his son dating/associating with an African-American because he sometimes uses the N word.

Now, maybe I’m missing something, but to me this is a little bit like me saying we can never have house guests because sometimes I like to walk around less than fully clothed. In Dog’s case (and assuming he has to use that word), couldn’t he just make a mental note to keep his mouth shut when his son’s friend came to visit?

Maybe he’ll claim he has a very specific case of Tourette’s.

    Maybe he’s a crybaby bitch.

“I was disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character”

When I was in high school, I had an acquaintance who once launched into a relatively long tirade about black baseball players, distinguishing those he liked (“black MEN”) from those he didn’t (“n——-“). He didn’t consider himself a racist, of course. Some people apparently think that if you limit the use of racial and other types of slurs to people you don’t like, that makes it okay.

I agree with you that it’s stupid and annoying, but I feel like playing Devil’s Advocate here. In defense of 28 Percent, he’s not the only person I’ve heard made that mistake. Really, he’s far from alone. Using “literally” in a figurative sense is joining “irregardless,” “for all intensive purposes” and “free reign” as one of those dumb but common linguistic mistakes that only pedantic people care about.

I think it’s proper to detest the racism it implies, but I also think we give the word “nigger” too much power by dancing around it with euphemisms like “n-word” and whatever. Kind of like the characters in Harry Potter who refuse to say “Voldemort”.

Oh and just because they say n****r and post article after article about the evil or stupid black man..don’t you dare call them racist!

Oh yeah, those folks whose relatives were lynched, they need to get over that..but the Civl War and the Battle Flag…that’s different.

“This is all well and good, but why is Lou Dobbs, who is far more damaging to this country’s political life and race (and even foreign) relations, still on the air?”

Well, I think someone should point out that the Republican ‘Southern Strategy’ is just an updated version of ‘Dixiecrat Politics,’ where the winner in an election was the one who could shout ‘Nigger!’ the loudest. The current ‘Niggers’ (as identified by the Fox Noise crew, Wingnuttia, and the Republicans’ Party) are ‘illegal aliens,’ followed by ‘terrorists’ and ‘Islamofascists.’ They seek to connect their opponents with the unspoken but heartfelt emotion embodied in that word and all its history.

When the likes of Dobbs (who has a cob up his ass about all aliens, it seems to me), spouts off about ‘illegal aliens,’ and when the Republicans look very much like they are going to use this as their whipping horse this elections, we are all being played for fools.

Don’t let them make ‘niggers’ out of aliens, muslims, and liberals in this election (or any election). Call them on it at every opportunity! Make it the ‘meme’ of this election season, that the Rightards are using coded shouts of NIGGER! whenever they bring up immigration.

This Sarah Silverman bit seems particularly appropriate:
She tells how she got selected for jury duty, which was a pain – she didn’t want to do it. ‘So I’m filling out the form. And my friend said, “Why don’t you just write something really inappropriate, like I hate Chinks?” And I said, “Yeah, that’s a good idea.” But I don’t want people to think that of me, you know? I just wanna get out of jury duty. So I just filled out the form, and I wrote, “I love Chinks.” And who doesn’t?’

A good friend of mine has a childhood friend who is a born again Christian.

He’s on his second marriage now. He got married the first time, because she got pregnant. Then he had to get a divorce because he got some other woman pregnant. Then he met his 2nd wife at bible camp, she got pregnant and so they got married.

and now he can’t figure out why his 2nd wife got mad at him because he had the phone number of a women he sees occasionally on the bus programmed into his cell phone.

He’s in a overpriced house on a subprime mortgage with no legitimate job prospects.

He’s one of the most immoral persons I’ve ever heard of.

But by God, he voted for GW Bush and is proud of it!

    John,

Scar- not to get all PC, and I know what you were trying to do there, but I really hate that word.

Maybe for the first time we agree. It is a word however in our vocabulary, Defined as ? who is using it, safe for some taboo for others.

I don’t use the word, however it does cross my mind like many other words that never crosses my lips. Case; driving down the road, getting cut off, looking at the car and driver, thinking(stupid asshole, dumb bitch, fucking punk, dumb nigger, fucking redneck) situation depends. Context and heart define the statement.

In the movie, A Time To Kill, quote “you don’t see me as a man, you see me as a black man” I see it is as very true. Choose being, do you see the man first, because of course he is after all a black man. The respect goes to the person, the eyes see what is in front of them.

    John,

Just a minor follow-up, we may or may not like certain terminology, but the words do exist. Some use them freely and openly. All languages world wide have specific terms for specific thoughts. The conversation and context usually determine if malice is involved.
