NYC plans to investigate whether Rudy Giuliani’s mismanagement of the emergency response system caused unnecessary deaths on 9/11. The investigation apparently follows a recent film publicizing the most credible allegations against him, but given the bitter taste that Giuliani’s administration left in New York (one among many, many examples) I doubt that too many will sweat the timing.

What with the film/transcripts of some of his more egregious press conferences, the pictures of him in drag or with Bernie Kerik, clips of him espousing opinions that are anathema to “value voters” (e.g., about gay civil unions, abortion and the like) — how has this bozo gained any traction in the Republican party at all?
I seriously don’t get it. Is it just because he’s from New York and isn’t Hillary Clinton?

I don’t know if that’s “karma” so much as “responsible politics and administration of one of America’s largest cities”. Kinda like watching an axe murderer get the chair. I wouldn’t call that karma either.

Several months ago somebody posted on the groupnewsblog that Rudy had made a lot of enemies on his way to Mayor of 9-11, and that many of those people were eagerly sharpening their knives, waiting for the right time to slip them in. Looks like he or she was right.

That short film is here.
The real Rudy.

Merely the entire state of NY who, despite the rest of the nations infatuation with “America’s mayor” still loathe the POS.

What Dreggas said.
Oh, and if you look beyond the NYPD you’ll see he generally had about as much smarts in hiring as the current fearless leader. Google “Raymond Harding” as a for instance. Eeeech.

Cool. I signed a petition awhile back pushing for this investigation. I don’t know if such things have much effect, but for whatever reason it’s happening, I’m glad. I’m heartily sick of mythology trumping reality.
