Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Narcissists are always shocked to discover other people have agency.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

There are a lot more evil idiots than evil geniuses.

They were going to turn on one another at some point. It was inevitable.

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

Second rate reporter says what?

Many life forms that would benefit from greater intelligence, sadly, do not have it.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

There is no compromise when it comes to body autonomy. You either have it or you do not.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Every reporter and pundit should have to declare if they ever vacationed with a billionaire.

This blog will pay for itself.

After dobbs, women are no longer free.

Everybody saw this coming.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

I’ve spoken to my cat about this, but it doesn’t seem to do any good.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

My Browns won, that’s what matters most. :) If the Ravens upset, it’ll be a 3-way tie for the lead in the AFC North. Not really sure who I’m cheering for in this matchup, to be honest. I think I’ll throw in with John because a) I hate Art Model with an undying passion, and b) the Steelers are the best chance to take the Pats down a peg or two… though it probably would mean that same fate awaits my Browns next weekend. :(

This is all you need to consider Kit. No mercy for Steelers.
Model past history . GO Ravens.

It is morally indefensible to root for the Ravens under any circumstances. Even if said rooting were key to preventing another terrorist attack.

That’s probably easier for you to say. I shook Modell’s hand as I walked into Cleveland Municipal Stadium the day before he announced he was moving the team to Baltimore, and he thanked me for being a great fan. To this day I loathe the man with an undying passion, and with him I loathe the Baltimore Ravens as well… so I hope you’ll understand when I say that my ideal end to this game is both teams losing.

No Kit, it’s not easy for me to say. Model moving the team to Baltimore broke my heart. When I was playing high school football, I wore # 44 for my hero Leroy Kelly. I even convinced the coach to run a couple of plays similar to the Browns plays. They seem to have gotten some heart back this year so maybe it’s time to move on about the past.

So… has the NFL or the TV networks given up on monday night football? Sunday night football gets the premier matchups and coverage while monday night football is on cable with new commentators. It’s like Disney uses the monday night game to tinker then transfers the successful tinkerings to the sunday night coverage. Did it prove impossible to get a competitive game on monday nights? Are the network dramas pulling too much of the tv audience? Am I reading to much into Madden/Michaels being pulled to Sunday night?

do not miss the hilarious goings on at the Weblogs Forum.

SadlyNo is getting accused of cheating in a race that they’ve now said they will gladly split the award with every blog that doesn’t start with DummmieFunnies. No, I’m not joking. I wish I was. It’s nearing 10,000 views and 23 pages of comments, busting the celing on the most viewed and responded to thread in the Wizbang competition’s forum…ever.

Begin Here…. prepare yourselves for wingnuts who have no case and are screaming bloody murder acting like they’re about to rip their heads off in protest of reality being reality.

Sadly No! with the latest explanation.

    Just go to SN!

The fight for the funniest blog has nosedived into one of the nastiest affairs in the history of blogging, attacking a man dying of cancer mere days before he was buried and defending it to this day…. by one of the nominees for funniest blog. No joke.

Wingnuts attacking cancer patients and getting nominated for Funniest Blog Award, unbelievable..yet…believable.

This illustrates what would happen if deliberations for the Nobel Peace Prize were open to the public. Except – and no offense to John and Tim – the NP is meaningful.

I grew up in Cleveland, but I have lived in New England for over 25 years. Ever since the Evil Art Model moved the real Browns, I have rooted for 1) The Patsies, & 2) The Steelers. (That team in Cleveland today are poseurs.)

It’s always a good weekend when the midnight runaways lose.
