Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Presidents are not kings, and Plaintiff is not President.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

We still have time to mess this up!

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

This blog will pay for itself.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

This really is a full service blog.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

A last alliance of elves and men. also pet photos.

Accountability, motherfuckers.

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

You can’t love your country only when you win.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

I am busy and lazy at the same time. There’s something to do at work but there’s no way to do it until a computer is fixed. So in the meantime…well, there’s always NaNoWriMo. (I’m at 34,000 words at this point.)

    Nikki,

How many would 2,000,000,000 grains of rice feed?

Given that there are about 29,000 grains of rice to a pound, that’d be about 34.5 tons of rice, or 275,862 cups (uncooked). So, they could have fed at least 3,500 people two bowls of rice a day over the past 39 days.

It’s my wet dream that someday “freerice.com” will be the website collecting money to pay for her lawyer to spring her from her war-crimes convictions.

More unintented comedy from the Right.

From the WaTi article which I refuse to link:

The Coalition for a Conservative Majority (CCM) — co-founded by Mr. DeLay, Texas Republican, and former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell — will establish “chapters” in all 50 states, which will be used to lobby lawmakers, coordinate political messages and influence members of the press.

Now there’s a winning team. Maybe GoneZo will join up and provide legal advice. I can see the ads for their first convention now: Come to Con-Con!

Members will be required to pay an annual fee of $52, which will go toward funding the group’s outreach efforts Mr. DeLay’s legal bills.

    Fixed.
