Is that the blog equivalent of rushing the end zone, Mike?

    LSU v Tennessee…what a drag. Alas.

WVU and Ohio State? I can’t take the big 12 north seriously yet. If Missouri/Kansas beats Oaklahoma, then I’ll believe they deserve to compete against Ohio state.

And how about poor Oregon? One injury and they go from #2 team in the nation to getting shut out by 5-6 UCLA. Well, at least USC finally look like they got their shit together. Who plays in the rose bowl if Ohio state goes to the national championship game?

Yeah, Mark Richt is a good coach. Too bad for FSU. heh

It does suck the Vols managed to win today. I would have rather seen UGA in the championship game…well second to the Gators!

    Tebow for Heisman!

Haha, better luck next year, Jo-Ja! The mighty Vols are off to win in Atlanta after finishing the regular season in convincing fashion!! (/sarcasm)

Really tho this works out in Georgia’s favor, because you get a BCS bowl bid, while the Vols are still ranked 18th or something and will likely drop out of the top 25 once we lose to LSU. And belated congrats on your wins over Florida and Auburn.

We’ll see out the SEC East Dance shakes out next year, but unless Tebow’s knees explode in a spray of blood and bone, then I think Florida will likely win next year.

I would have loved to have seen Georgia play in the SEC championship game but the fact is Tennessee kicked our ass and kicked it hard up in Knoxville this year. So there is some sickening justice in their getting to go and play LSU.

LSU has the most overrated head football coach in the nation. I sure hope he does go up to Michigan. In a couple of years they will be praying for Lloyd Carr’s forgiveness and pleading for his return.

Les Miles has been propped up by assistants. Wherever he goes he had damn well better have some good ones surrounding him.

Yeah. I love Marc Richt. Wanna talk about that WVU/GA game from a few years back?

Personally I would rather eat shit.

I don’t even have a good seat in my living room for a game like that one.

I will third it. Tebow is a great football player but I will be surprised if a sophomore gets the Heisman. Even though in my opinion he is hands down the best college football player in the United States right now and that is who is supposed to win the trophy.

And…..PISS ON THE BCS! We already have the parity. We need the playoffs!

The Gators are only losing 5 regulars this year (3 on offense, 2 on defense). Plus we’ll be adding RB Emmanuel Moody, who transferred from Southern Cal. The Gators will be fucking scary on offense next year. The defense this year was young and banged up, but talented. They should be much improved next year. IMO, everyone will be playing for second place in the SEC next year.

Tebow was a lock until McFadden went nuts against LSU. Now all those sophomore haters have someone to vote for. Hell, that dipshit Bob Davie didn’t even have Tebow on his list because “he’ll have plenty of chances to win it.” Idiot.

As a Gator, it really (*^%*& me off that the Vols, the team we CLOBBERED this year, are going to Atlanta. (sigh) I hate Les Miles. What kind of psycho goes for it on fourth down every freaking time?

Georgia just whomped us; what a bad defense that day.

    But ugh. The Vols??

I hear ya, but after that Richt planned endzone rush I didn’t want to see Georgia go. I guess he needed to do anything he could to win his second game against the Gators in 7 tries, but it was classless.

Les Miles was coaching like he’d be somewhere else next year. I’m not convinced he’s all that great. I guess Michigan will find out.

It was funny and it was harmless and had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the game. Georgia was penalized for it as they should have been and everybody moved on. Big deal made out of nothing.

Florida got beat that day by a much better football team.

You won’t get any argument from me on that. The Gators got their ass kicked. It was like watching my own autopsy. Still, Richt showed himself to be a classless punk. It turned out harmless, but it could have turned into an embarrassing brawl. I guess I’m old-school. I cringe at all those celebrations of routine plays, even when it’s the Gators.

I guess a team is allowed only so many miracles in a season. Kentucky, beating LSU in three overtimes, obviously used up their allotment. Man, how sweet that would have been — taking the Vols in four overtimes.

Seems to me they should have been penalized 15 yards for each of the jerks who came off the sideline to rush the end zone. And was Richt ever penalized at all for ordering mass unsportsmanlike behavior?

Richt sent a letter of apology to the SEC and the SEC considers the matter closed. Meyer should have sent a third-stringer across the field to kick him in the junk.

Richt told his players during practice the week before that if they did not get an excessive celebration penalty after the first score he would be disappointed.

    Shorter Richt. Play with emotion.

I do not think he sat them down and said, “after the first score all of ya’ll run out on the field and jump up and down in the end zone.” I think that was done by the players to show Richt that they were behind him 100%. I believe Richt was as surprised by the event as anybody else who saw it happen.

To insinuate that Richt is classless is unfair. That guy is class personified. You cannot judge the character of a person based on one event.

It was Steve Spurrier, the current 6-6 South Carolina coach who said that if he had been coach he would have sent in a third stringer to start a brawl which would lead to suspensions for many of the Georgia starters for the next game. Now that’s classless.

The fact of the matter is that since it did not disintegrate into a brawl showed a lot of class from both teams. It was never meant to be disrespectful. There is not that much difference in an end zone celebration at the first of the game compared with an end zone celebration at the end of a game. I don’t know of any coaches that have been suspended for excessive celebration penalties.

I hope it never happens again. I did not like it from the moment it started. I cannot stand the funky chicken dances players do after routine tackles and 10 yard runs.

But it is a part of the game now and there is not much you can do about it.
