Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Marge, god is saying you’re stupid.

This blog will pay for itself.

Roe is not about choice. It is about freedom.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Relentless negativity is not a sign that you are more realistic.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

Whoever he was, that guy was nuts.

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

A tremendous foreign policy asset… to all of our adversaries.

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

Since we are repeating ourselves, let me just say fuck that.

Come on, media. you have one job. start doing it.

Balloon Juice, where there is always someone who will say you’re doing it wrong.

You cannot love your country only when you win.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

You know it’s bad when the Project 2025 people have to create training videos on “How To Be Normal”.

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

I don’t know if they changed it, but the LAPD slogan used to be:

“Come to Los Angeles, we’ll treat you like a King!”

Way off topic, but Reuters is reporting that Benezir Bhutto just got killed in a suicide bombing.

    Holy shit.

Yeah, but these are cops in Idaho. PTSD comes with being born there I thought.

And yes, CNN just picked up Bhutto’s death. Nothing good to come of that.

Holy fuck, can I go punch the smirk off Musharaff’s face? Please? Can I?

I bet that little shit goes to her funeral in full military drag.

Gah, I’m not reading any news today. If I see Shrub trying to maintain his solemn prezidential face, I’ll puke. If I hear any pundits trying to blame this on Democrats I won’t be responsible for my actions.

It’s hard not to wonder if Pakistan would be this unstable if the grown-ups had been in charge of our government for the last seven years.

This is not the time to have Darth Cheney and Monkey-Boy running our country.

I’m probably going to hell for laughing at that slogan. But what can I say? I like my humor dark. I agree, though, as an official slogan, it’s inappropriate.

They should have saved it for the t-shirts.

    On a lighter note:

AFP says the priests came to blows — and in some cases even attacked each other with broomsticks and iron rods — after the Greeks allegedly started cleaning a part of the church controlled by the Armenians. The church, built on the site where Christians believe Jesus was born, is shared by various branches of Christianity — each of which controls a slice of the building.

Palestinian police had to be called in to break up the battle, and two of them were among the seven people reportedly hurt.

Am I the only one here who sees the irony of the Palestinian police being the ones to quell the Christian hooligans? Around here if there is a Palestinian Cultural festival the nut jobs can’t wait to call it a terrorist meeting. It must *really* set wingnuts on their one nerve when anyone mentions that Jesus was a Palestinian. What a crazy world.

Are you cop-haters ever going to have anything positive to say about those who protect and serve? Cop Hater Syndrome, also known as CHipS.

My sister was a police dispatcher for many years. One of her biggest problems was the ‘super troopers’ who acted like the biggest badasses of them all. (I guess all the other cops were wimps) She never understood that pretty much all cops treat us ‘civilians’ like the super troopers treated her.

Hey Psycho, how ya doing today? I haven’t seen any posts from you until now.

I’m not a cop hater, just a bad cop hater.

Kidding right? You’re going to compare your disdain for law enforcement to the same kind of countries where people were dragged off in the middle of the night and never heard from again? Are you so spoiled, that you can’t even recognize the foolishness of what you just said?

Yeah, it’s a real police state when cops take the time to taser a victim, as opposed to putting two in the head behind the woodshed.

The NRA says the city seized more than 1,000 guns that weren’t part of any criminal investigation after the hurricane. Police have said they took only guns that had been stolen or found in abandoned homes.
