Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

I like you, you’re my kind of trouble.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

Republicans don’t want a speaker to lead them; they want a hostage.

American History and Black History Cannot Be Separated

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

The GOP couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

Let’s finish the job.

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

This year has been the longest three days of putin’s life.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

“Squeaker” McCarthy

“woke” is the new caravan.

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

… pundit janitors mopping up after the GOP

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

You cannot shame the shameless.

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Steelers Open Thread

Go Steelers.

I do not feel comfortable about this game at all. I feel the Steelers record is much better than the team really is, and I have found them to be inconsistent and really not that solid of a team. The Jags, on the other hand, are a physical, well-coached, and determined team. I just don’t feel good about this.

*** Update ***

Two minutes to the half. About what I expected. Not how I expected it to happen with the ints, but what I expected in general.

*** Update ***

That was a catch. Bullshit.

*** Update ***

Congrats Jacksonville. Not the Steelers year, and I am not surprised. We just aren’t very good.

    Don’t bet the rent money.

But you’ll always have Steely McBeam.

Kick a man while he’s down, eh?

McBeam makes me look back fondly, in comparison, on the Islanders’ Gorton’s Fisherman.

By the way, John, one of the soft spots I have in my heart for Hillary Clinton is the one that Kevin Drum reiterates. Senator Clinton really is a decent, hard-working, holding-her-positions-for-the-right-reasons woman, and she has taken an appalling sliming for a decade and a half. That still makes my blood boil.

Hopefully your lame team hits a homerun or scores a hat trick or whatever so you’re not so unhinged.

Maybe then you’ll fire the “hey I got a new TV” Mike D.

BJ used to be fun to read, even if I disagreed with it. Now it’s just kinda weak.

Why don’t you run back to Blogs for the 4 Brownback Supporters, or whatever you call it, where you’ll be safe from the real world?

As a Jag fan, I don’t feel comfortable about this game either. It’s an away game. The Jags are riding a high of having beat the Steelers a few weeks ago. Plus, everyone seems to be predicting the Jags to win. That’s a recipe for a disaster.

Otherwise, the Jags should win. They’re relatively healthy. They’ve only lost a few key players during the season. But none like the game makers the Steelers have. Our secondary is our weakness. Hopefully they’ll step up.

What on earth was Moss doing on that INT? I would think that if my defender suddenly runs away from me that I should probably turn around and follow him because he’s seeing something coming towards him from my QB. That was your game right there. Incomplete pass, and the Skins still have field position and some lingering momentum. Interception, TD, game over.

    Now, for the Jags/McBeamers game… ;)

    One Hell of a comeback!

I checked out at halftime, and have been working on getting a PS2 emulator to work. Can’t see paying $130+ when I’m only interested in one game; but even a nearly-new PC just doesn’t seem to have the speed to keep up… game lags and then freezes after just a few seconds. Will catch the rest of the football game, then back to doing Google searches and tweaks to try to get this thing to playing right.
