Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

Historically it was a little unusual for the president to be an incoherent babbling moron.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Let us savor the impending downfall of lawless scoundrels who richly deserve the trouble barreling their way.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

People are complicated. Love is not.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

Accountability, motherfuckers.

This Will Leave a Mark

Ouch:

The whole thing is kind of meta, in that you have to have seen the Obama viral video in order to really appreciate it, but it is still pretty damning. I laughed out loud at the “we’re screwed” hand gesture and the fellow hyperventilating into the bag.

That was hilarious. I liked the sign language, the “cien anos” (damn tilde won’t work, it’s not “anuses”) thing and the “Date of Withdrawal 12,008”.

We need to play this on TV over and over again. Who needs these stupidly high-paid campaign consultants?

“If the Goverment is a car setting out to give every one a ride to work, then for 40 years the Republicans have been puncturing the tires, pouring sand in the gas tank, stealing the distributor cap, and, whenever they can get their hands on the wheel, driving it straight into the nearest ditch and then, pointing to the wreckage as the tow truck backs up to it, saying, ‘See, this proves that people were meant to walk.’
And they do this so that they don’t have to chip in on gas.” – Lance Mannion

I really hate you Cole for posting funny youtube shit that only 93% of your bloggies can see. Us 7% are in limbo hell, fighting desperately with our IT idiots to liberalize this damn webfilter.

    Curses!

Needs to be another one on “I don’t understand the economy.”

i like how the one guy, near the beginning, is happily singing along, and then he realizes what he’s saying, and goes “..wait. What?”

…that moment of self-realization is something Republicans never have.

Yeah, everyone needs to put this on their web pages today. It’s excellent.

I like the woman singing, “Say what?” and the mother covering her little boy’s ears and eyes at “10,000 years”.

I’ve had the repeated experience in last two Presidential elections of looking at the Republican nominee and saying, my God there’s no way he could get elected is there? Only to be proven wrong each time.

But my God, there’s no way McCain could get elected, is there?

Don’t vote for McCain and have the worry he may bomb Iran.
Vote for Obama and worry he’ll invade Pakistan.

It astonishes me that anyone could know the internet well enough to have found that site but still somehow not have run across LOLcat images before. I’m going to assume the complainers are kidding.

    ::dies laughing::

I don’t know which one was funnier: the Hispanic guy staring at the black singer and blurting, “Cien anos?!”, or the white woman signing, “We are fucked.”

I’m too cynical not to believe that somehow, someway, the Democrats will snatch burning defeat from the charred claws of victory. I just hope the Pakistanis hurry up and invade first. ;)
