Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

White supremacy is terrorism.

Bad news for Ron DeSantis is great news for America.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

Compromise? There is no middle ground between a firefighter and an arsonist.

We’re not going back!

In short, I come down firmly on all sides of the issue.

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

It’s easier to kill a dangerous animal than a man who just happens to have different thoughts/values than one’s own.

If you’re already rich and powerful, Obama’s message of empowering ordinary Americans doesn’t sound very hopeful. Real hope for those guys is the prospect of passing on a hundred million dollar inheritance without paying taxes on it.

This is vaguely an economic post, so I am not completely off topic.

The government is discontinuing the Economic Indicators web site. That’s one may to make the economy look better than it is: stop posting any data about it at all.

Nope, nothing wrong with the economy here.

Amateurs. Like everything else, they’re doing it half-assed. They fail to update all the old facts to suit the present. How are you going to control history if you don’t update all the old facts?

*gasp* The Wall Street Journal – bastion of stogey white, old money, establishment conservatives – doesn’t like the fresh faced, young, progressive, black man running on a populist platform.

I am shocked. Deeply and tramatically shocked.

Next thing you know, you’ll be telling me that red-neck mycoginists are against Clinton.

Though down, Hillary ought to suck it up for Ohio and Texas and hope the Obama wave starts to break. On current course, it will.

These guys really, really, really want to run against HRC. Subtlety is not their strong suit.

I’m sorry, I must have missed that sermon. I was too busy listening to all the other sermons about how Obama was going to be our savior by using his magic feel good oratory skills.

OxyCon, if you missed that message, then you haven’t listened to a single one of his speeches. Because if you had, that message would club you on the head, then lie down in front of you so that you could trip and fall over it.

I’m surprised there’s any data they haven’t stopped posting. Thing is, when the stock market is already jittery, moves this turn anxiety up to eleven. “Huh? What’s going on? What aren’t you telling me? WHAT??”

Sorry Jen, but I haven’t joined the cult yet and I never will. People who say they have so much magical power and who promise to be my savior scare the hell out of me. I was a “Jesus Freak” in the 1970s. People like Obama were a dime a dozen back in those days. Been there, done that. I don’t need someone with supernatural powers running my country, just a mere mortal will do.
Oh yeah, btw, I’m a racist too. Thought I’d just get that out of the way now before someone beats me too it.

No, no, no. His hope *is* pessimistic. What appears, to the untrained eye, to be McCain’s dispiriting hopelessness, is actually his dynamism and message of hope and optimism. We may spend 100 years in Iraq but it’s going to be a *good* 100 years. Much better than any time you could spend here.

(I know, it’s hard to do. It helps to be retarded.)

As joyless as you sound, I’d rather not have you on the MUP and I wasn’t extending you a hand. But if you haven’t heard the reiterations of “we” instead of “I” or the proposals for college tuition credit for young people who give back to the country through public service, peace corps, etc. then you Are. Not. Listening.

Whatever. I’m not sure what exactly you are expecting a Presidential Candidate to say. GW was chanting “Compassionate Conservative” in 2000 and “You’re all gonna get eaten by terrorists” in 2004. Clinton sing the “Bridge to the 21st Century” song. Bush Sr had his “No new taxes”. Reagen had his “Morning in America”.

Do you expect your candidates to be flat and boring? Are you pissed because Obama is “too popular”? I’m confused as to what you don’t like about him. There’s some talk about how he doesn’t have substainence. I suggest you visit Obama’s website or… I don’t know… actually listen to his speeches. Admittedly, Obama’s policies don’t depart noticably from the party – he’s pro-minimum wage, anti-rich people tax cuts, pro-civil rights, anti-War (more so than Clinton at the very least).

What exactly are you looking for in a candidate that Obama lacks? Or is this just one of those “gut feeling” “I don’t like the cut of his gib” “Not the guy I’d like to have a beer with” things?

    About that MUP…
If you have an internet connection (and obviously you do or you would not be able to read this) then you have no real excuse for repeating anybody’s misconstruals. Yes, here it’s Obama’s alleged no-meat stand (aka MUP), but he’s not the only one – on either side – to have common wisdom be wrong.

To help, here are the links to the three candidate’s positions and proposed policies.

    Clinton

    McCain
    Obama

Enough with common wisdom – use the primary sources to feed your decisions.

I’m still a Christian today. I just learned that the message of Christianity is what Jesus has to say, rather than what the charlatans (who are much closer to God than I) have to say. I’ve seen alot of pietous frauds in my day.

    Fixed ;)

Compare that to the tired old mule that Hillary rides beats to death every day.

WSJ is the National Enquirer for the rich. The advertising is more honest than the articles in it, and that says it all for me.
