Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

People are weird.

When we show up, we win.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

In my day, never was longer.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

You’re just a puppy masquerading as an old coot.

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

This chaos was totally avoidable.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

To the privileged, equality seems like oppression.

“Alexa, change the president.”

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

One of our two political parties is a cult whose leader admires Vladimir Putin.

Giving up is unforgivable.

Weird. Rome has an American Pope and America has a Russian President.

the 10% who apparently lack object permanence

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Sorry, I have to give it to Gavin for Blancmange. I based a whole first year art project around their music way back in the 80s. (Yeah, it sucked like a Hoover.)

(And, yes, for those of you who are keeping score, I have used that particular piece of “music” before. However, that inimitable, irreproducible, nonpareil performance has never graced the pages of BJuice before.)

I rather listen to Tunak Tunak Tun without that god awful video:

    Tunak Tunak Tun

(and also a damn good website)

It’s the one of the few bhangra songs I actually like. That doesn’t have that stupid ‘tinka tinka tinka” sound that drives me crazy.
