Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

“The defense has a certain level of trust in defendant that the government does not.”

Republicans do not trust women.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Boeing: repeatedly making the case for high speed rail.

The snowflake in chief appeared visibly frustrated when questioned by a reporter about egg prices.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

I’m more christian than these people and i’m an atheist.

Radicalized white males who support Trump are pitching a tent in the abyss.

This fight is for everything.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

How stupid are these people?

Hamas Endorses Obama

On Sunday, Aaron Klein and John Batchelor interviewed Ahmed Yousef, chief political adviser to the Prime Minister of Hamas, on WABC radio. The interview produced a scoop which, for some reason, has not been widely publicized: Hamas has endorsed Barack Obama for President. Yousef said, “We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election.” Why? “He has a vision to change America.” Maybe Yousef has some insight into what Obama means by all these vague references to “change.”

And who can blame her if she does run with this? I mean, after all, Rush Limbaugh is gonna ask this question in the fall, so we better get it out there right now. AMIRITE?

Last time I checked, its almost like the Bush Administration WANTED Hamas in office because of the way they practically forced the Palestinian Authority to hold elections before they were ready, and were shocked, Shocked, SHOCKED! when Hamas ended up being the legitimately elected government of the Palestinian Authority.

Bush and the Republicans have no one but their own hackery in their State Department to blame for mis-underestimating the support that Hamas had in the Territories. Their policy was to plug their ears with their fingers, shout “La, la, la, I can’t hear you,” and then pray that Thomas Jefferson was elected.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG! AARON KLEIN AND JOHN BATCHELOR ARE TALKING TO TERRORISTS!@!! THE MEDIA IS CONSPIRING TO SUICIDE BOMB AMERICA WITH LIES!!!

Oh, wait, what? Hit job on Obama? Ok, in that case I’m glad they were over there to gain such powerful insight into the minds of our enemies so that we can decided on the Republican Nominee in the fall.

But more than anything, I need to know, was Prime Minister Yousef wearing his Hamas Lapel Pin?

Look, if a Bogey Man likes Obama, then obviously Obama = Bogey Man.

That’s Karl Rove’s math and the Repubs are stickin’ by it.

Also, don’t forget, they should only be allowed to influence elections.
They should not be allowed to influence foreign policy, especially not in the Middle East.

I need my tax refund advance now. I am in need of pharmaceuticals. Plus, the self-inflicted head wounds I got during the debate probably require antibiotics. I cannot do this alone. I will not make it.

Hillary is an associate of George Bush, who admitted to authorizing war crimes. Therefore, Hillary is a supporter of war crimes.

I think he’s pre-empting the inevitable stupid Clinton response. Given that she hasn’t Lieberman’d out on us yet, she’s still a Democrat. Given that her MO is so pathetically predictable, she’s still stupid. Hence the tag.

With his sensible policies and competent management, Obama will put al-Qaeda’s accounting practices in order, and will do the same for Hamas. No wonder they endorsed him.

What’s sad is that Hamas, who benefits from GOP rule, seems to have a better grasp on how to manipulate our political system than most of us do.

What’s sad is that Hamas, who benefits from GOP rule, seems to have a better grasp on how to manipulate our political system than most of us do.

It’s not just sad. It’s kinda scary.

They know how to manipulate our voters, especially conservatives, at least as well as Rove does. And it’s not just Hamas who knows how the Republican lizard brain works, remember bin Laden’s videotape rejection of Bush in 2004 just before the election? He essentially urged Americans to reject Bush which naturally made the Morans of America support him all the more. Robert Parry thinks this possibly tipped the election to Bush. “After the videotape appeared, senior CIA analysts concluded that ensuring a second term for Bush was precisely what bin Laden intended.”

Of course the intended effect of Hamas’ Obama endorsement is the same: They want another 4 years of Bush. Or maybe more precisely they want 4 years of anyone but Obama. But I think McCain, who will easily hang Hillary with her ‘experience’ and ‘commander threshold’ rope, would be the one to deliver it.

So yes, the terrorists seem to understand very well how our mouthbreathing goopers and extra-chromosome conservatives think. And that is something to fear. It has been arguably the most devastating weapon they have used against us.

    ***

Now that I think about it, figuring out how to make dumbfuck Americans to vote against their own self-interest is pretty easy. Demagoguery is always the easy way. Our morans know what they want to believe regardless of repeated exposure to facts or reality and they’re always eager to ignore or distort any evidence that even has a slight possibility of challenging those beliefs.

In other words, we ought not to fear so much the people who can manipulate these fools and cretins; it takes no special genius to do that. Rather, we ought to fear more the fools and cretins themselves. Their dumbfuckery has caused the senseless deaths of more people than these terrorists ever killed.

    I just don’t get it.
