Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republicans in disarray!

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

This fight is for everything.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

’Where will you hide, Roberts, the laws all being flat?’

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier for them to cheat.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

The willow is too close to the house.

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, hurry up and indict this prick.

Sometimes the world just tells you your cat is here.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

Anne Laurie is a fucking hero in so many ways. ~ Betty Cracker

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

Whatever happens next week, the fight doesn’t end.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

Where was Sen. David Vitter (R-Pampers) today? Does he have an alibi?

Is it irresponsible to speculate? No, it would be irresponsible not to.

Well, I guess my pants must be damp, because when I saw the headline I chuckled and said “suicided!”

    Either that, or space aliens…

Because a bullet hole in the back of the head accompanied by a “suicide note” would just be so deja vu.

I suppose her cell phone’s address book and call lists are all neatly erased.

I wonder what Hunter S. Thompson would have said about this…if he hadn’t killed himself in the middle of a phone call.

Proving once again that the US Justice System TOTALLY WORKS!

Hurray for another victim of the War On Sex. When do we get to put David Vitter on trial, again?

Another casualty in the War On Fun. I’m really more pissed off than mocking, it’s just everything I say sounds snarky. I thought she got a bad deal all the way. Of course, if you’re the john instead of the madam, you just get a slap on the wrist and drag your wife on stage for a painful press conference. Goddamn…

Did you read the disgusting end of the AP story?

“One of the escort service employees was former University of Maryland, Baltimore County, professor Brandy Britton, who was arrested on prostitution charges in 2006. She committed suicide in January before she was scheduled to go to trial.

Palfrey said last year that she, too, was humiliated by her prostitution charges, but said: “I guess I’m made of something that Brandy Britton wasn’t made of.””

Jesus. I remember now about that prof’s suicide. I thought Palfrey would have been more resilient, too, but I guess it got to her, too.

I doubt that she will. Her body will probably be exhumed at least once.

It’s not irresponsible, it’s the right thing to do. Like what the MSM did when they got their hands on Clinton’s schedule as the First Lady. ABC checked where she was when her husband fooled around with Lewinsky and Wall Street Journal checked where she was when Vince Foster died.

The only thing you did wrong is that you forget the cardinal rule. IOKIYAR.

She carried out her own punishment for tempting all of those men to have consequence-free sex in return for money. Paragons of virtue that they are, our elected officials in D.C. would never have gone a whoring if they hadn’t been tempted beyond the bounds of human resistance.

    Right.

I now lift my Friday cup of goodwine to the hope that every one of her clients that hoped that something would happen to her before they were publicly humiliated now suffers a stroke that leaves them incapable of having sex or speaking aloud.

Vitter would be happy if he had to wear a diaper.

Didn’t she sell The List to Larry Flynt? I bet a lot of guys are wondering if she left instructions to release the whole damn thing once she died.

Hey, that was right down here in Tarpon Springs, just down US 19 from me. I grew up there. There was me, Oswald, Ferrie, Hunt, a couple of buddies from Cuba, you know, the usual crowd of middle school delinquents… sigh, the good ole days…

The women are prosecuted, the men go free.

Two women have committed suicide in the case; Vitter is sitting pretty (in his diapers) in the Senate.

To quote Thomas Hardy, “the woman pays.”

“Notice we still don’t know who was on her list, but a couple days after the Client 9 case broke we know who Client 9 was? ” — Is all a conspiracy theorist has to throw out there to throw her suicide in doubt.

Sad day that we have another victim of the U.S. puritan morality train.

Now remember back to the GOP convention in NYC. The city didn’t have enough prostitutes for the convention, they were importing prostitutes from Europe.

I live near St. Paul, and I wonder how the hell we can provide the services the GOP needs. I mean, we sure as hell can’t have as many prostitutes as NYC, right?

But then, comparing what happens to hookers who do Republicans versus what happens to hookers who do Democrats, makes me wonder why any of them would f*** a Republican in the first place.

Aside from the suicides of Briton and Palfrey, the people behind this case have to answer for all the suffering they caused the women they compelled to testify. They granted them all immunity, removing their ability to plead the 5th, and called over ten to the stand. Now those women will be branded forever, their names listed in the public record as having taken money for sex. For some reason, though, only two ‘johns’ got called to the stand and publicly tarred.

Sad. Nobody gets up Match.com or AdultFriendFinder.com’s asses for connecting people, only because it gets given away for free.

In my experience, no guy really gets laid for free. If you want to get a woman to consent to anything sexual, it’s gonna cost you a significant investment of time and resources… and that’s not counting the emotional drama.

Hookers are simply more honest and straightforward about what it’s gonna take to get what you want. And there’s alot less drama.
