A commenter calls it:
Oh,noes! It’s Memorial Day, and Google didn’t prep some fancy holiday-theme logo. I’m sure K-Lo will be all over this…
She does not disappoint (and praises a site named for dogshit in the process.)
Oh, and for what it’s worth, The Corner has no fancy graphics honoring Memorial Day today either.

Oh, and for what it’s worth,
The CornerBalloon Juice has no fancy graphics honoring Memorial Day today either.Michael D.
That’s right. And we’re not bitching about Google either.
Ted
Dug Jay’s probably still upset about that Dunkin Donuts ad with the scarf.

I wonder how offended she’d be if they did something cutesy like their other graphics.
Ted
You’d think they would prefer Google NOT highlight their handiwork every year.
incertus
It’s a win-win for K-Lo, it seems. Think she’s planning on challenging Malkin for the title?
Dug Jay
What else is new?
Ted
Hey Fugly Jay, Little Green Fuckfaces also has no special logo today to commemorate the occasion. Go bother the old guy with the pony tail.

Poor, poor, K-Lo. It must hurt when even success stories in *private* enterprise don’t focus on the GOP. I mean, they’re not even the party that gets elected on a platform that government doesn’t work and proves it, they’re a party that gets elected on a platform of “the best money is easy money, and the easiest money is daddy’s money” — and proves that, too.

Since I have igoogle, I can’t verify this slight by Google to honor the veterans. When I link to google, I get Zen Dog.

only a Keyboard Kommando would think that harping on this kind of shit is ‘supporting the troops’ or in any way relevant to the purpose of Memorial Day.
K-Lo, did you haul your fat ass to a Memorial Day ceremony? Go to a remembrance service at a veteran’s cemetery?
No? Then STFU you retard.
PGE
Judging by the continuing stream of factual errors at NRO that could have easily been corrected by 10 seconds with Google, they never use the site over there anyway. So why do they care?

Jesus Wind Surfing Christ.
It’s a good thing Mademoiselle Monobrow and her able bodied (unless I mean ample bodied) pals avoid recruitment centers like the plague. Other wise there’d be no one to give a flaming fuck about what Internet search engine did or didn’t pull some clip art to Support The Troops(TM). That’s all it takes for these people to think everything is right in the world and all the soldiers are happy and gay. Decent benefits? Nope. Enough time at home to recover from being in a combat zone? Nuh-uh. It’s all about the god damned graphic on Memorial Day and a stinking ribbon on the back of the car.
Enjoy it while you can O Mistress of Endless Mittsturbation, soon you’ll be to busy bemoaning the fall of the GOP.
Stupid cow.

So how exactly would the wingnuts think that you can make a tasteful, sensetive tribute to the fallen out of the Google logo? Or maybe the wingnuts have forgotten that Memorial Day is about the fallen?

Well someone certainly knows how to celebrate memorial day. My wife and step-daughter are currently in France on an all expense paid trip to help celebrate memorial day at the military cemeteries. Her father is buried at one of them and she found out that every year there is an organization that sponsors a trip for two family members of someone who is buried there to come over and take part in the events. For her it was a dream come true because she has never seen his grave and he died when she was 9. He was the captain of a merchant marine vessel. he had an ulcer to rupture while at sea, this was in 1946, no access to antibiotics and no helicopter airlifts back then. by the time that got to the nearest port it was too late to combat the infection that had set in.
