Every now and then, the folks at Red State say something that has me laughing with them, and this is one of those times. Dan McLaughlin, reacting to this claim by a Bishop that those who avoid climate change are as bad as the Austrian “Horror Dad”:
People Who Use Bad Analogies Are Just Like Child Rapists
Ok, that was clever. And the Bishop should just be ignored.
Definitely an attempt to make a powerful, topical point that went awry.
I don’t know Dan. So, I really don’t know if he’s just like a child rapist or not. But, I’ll take his word for it.
Well, I’ve gotten word that there is a video showing Larry Johnson fellating a 8 year old so anything is possible.
Grand Moff Texan
That was part of his training.
He failed, btw.
There should be a license to make analogies, much in the way that we issue licenses to people who carry concealed weapons. They are just too harmful in the hands of inexperienced or reckless individuals.
That said, I do applaud FOX News for coming as close as they are physically capable of to talking about Climate Change. A shame they have to take such a mean-spirited and offensive swipe at people of faith.
/Concern Troll Shows Concern
The Other Steve
Not that I’m claiming Larry Johnson is a pedophile, but did I mention he kind of reminds me of one?
Just Some Fuckhead
Sounds like you were a pretty discerning eight year old.
If you’re not with us, you’re against us.
It’s hard for me to get past the fact that, lately, TalkLeft makes RedState look like a model for sanity and moderation.
OT, I don’t really read Drudge, but this from Politico is interesting, the republicans are losing Drudge?
I thought bad analogies were one of the founding principles of internet discussion threads. I’m pretty sure a thread cannot exist without at least one.
Seems that Godwin defined the archetype of bad analogies.
The Commander Guy
The Austrian Guy was really fucked up.Link.
Maybe he just wanted to make sure that she couldn’t get an abortion?
Hey, John, speaking of teh funny…Dick Cheney bringz teh funny, too.
But will RedState let Larry Johnson write for them when he becomes a Republican (about 3 months from now), or do they have some standards?
It is a pretty good line. The problem is, I suspect RedState real belief is:
So the Entire Rightwing Blogathon should be on the National Sex Offender Registry list?
Good one. I laughed.
