Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Quote tweet friends, screenshot enemies.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

The new republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

Republicans don’t trust women.

Whoever he was, that guy was nuts.

They’re not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

The fundamental promise of conservatism all over the world is a return to an idealized past that never existed.

Make the republican party small enough to drown in a bathtub.

When do the post office & the dmv weigh in on the wuhan virus?

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

It’s time for the GOP to dust off that post-2012 autopsy, completely ignore it, and light the party on fire again.

In after Baud. Damn.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

Their freedom requires your slavery.

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

Just Go Away, Geraldine

No comment:

After a long primary season, the Clinton campaign’s expenditures have far exceeded the amount of donations it has received so far, and the campaign has accumulated debt of more than $19 million, according to campaign finance reports. Much of that debt consists of unpaid salaries and bills to vendors.

When questioned about Clinton fundraisers being asked to join the Obama campaign, Ferraro told The Hill, “These are the people raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. I would hope that [Obama] would do the same thing with his fundraisers to pay off Hillary’s debt.”’

***

Ferraro said she has not been asked to raise funds for the Obama campaign.

And if he doesn’t, it is just another example of reverse racism!

In other Ferraro news, go read this piece at Too Sense titled “The Limited Empathy of Joan Walsh.”

If Obama yields money to Clinton, then he has spent that money twice over.

Once, to counteract her media buys and her costs, and a second time, to pay off the debt she incurred in order to make her buys and fund her own costs. So her opposition costs us twice as much as it cost her to provide it in the first place.

FEC rules prohibit transferring donations — not that they would do that anyway. The question is just whether Obama would advocate on her behalf to help out. (Or give her the VP slot to free up her $23M in GE funds?) I still think it’s rewarding bad behavior, but let’s be clear on what we’re talking about.

I’m still kind of baffled that we were even considering nominating a candidate who’d go into the general $20M in the hole after losing a huge financial advantage. Irresponsible. The whole issue of campaign debt got lost under the obsession with the stupid horse race.

Walsh and Ferraro, experts both on being a black man and running for president, and presumably how easy such an endeavor is, given the vast number of black presidents we have elected. It wasn’t that Obama built a top-tier fundraising organization, (from scratch) studied the primary rules and how to take full advantage of them, or ran an disciplined campaign with minimal conflicts it was because it was easy, because otherwise there’s no possible way this nigger could have actually pulled it off.

Obama, 46, an Illinois senator, is barred by federal law from using his own treasury to pay off Clinton’s debts. He could host a fundraiser for the New York senator or ask some of his 1.5 million donors to help her out.

It’s not unusual for a winner to help a vanquished rival retire campaign debts. Clinton backers helped former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack after he dropped out of the race last year. And McCain’s supporters gave to Kansas Senator Sam Brownback, a failed Republican candidate.

They did a piece on Kerry but it was a glamour bio. In an email back-and-forth they acknowledged to me they had done hit pieces on all the other candidates but insisted the Kerry piece was hard-hitting as well. I ask them to show me the passages where it was hard-hitting and they just kept insisting it was hard-hitting, without evidence.

If she was thinking about who was going to pay off her debt, she should have run a different type of campaign. Too late now to go back and change that.

    I just don’t get this.

If these guys can’t get it right …. what good are they?

Where were these voices in 2002?

Just a few weeks ago, the “young” Rockefeller faction of the clan attempted a coup at Exxon/Mobil (I think) in order to force the oil company to invest in renewable energies.

This wasn’t their first attempt but something’s different this year that made it more likely to succeed. Little known is that the “younger” Rockefellers don’t hold the same corporatist-type goals as the patriarchal Rocks.

Look for more of this type of 180 turns to come out, and not just from the Rocks. At first blush, what might appear as a flip-flop is actually truth telling at long last.

The US Govt. is suppressing a boat load of info regarding energy technologies, banking chicanery, and hi-tech medical therapies and they’re doing it with the help of the corporate media. Fascism. Gotta love it.

This is ridiculous. Clinton has to pay it. You just don’t accidentally run up a $20 Million Debt

I think it’s called “shooting the moon.” As far as I can tell – trying to put rational thought into what appears to be a deranged woman’s head – her team spent money like gangbusters, and ran a scorched-earth campaign, in order to get within 2 digits of delegates of Obama (i.e. under 100, 99 would be fine, just like her 9.2 win in PA became 10 points, it works in reverse too).

With just 2-digits separating ’em, Hillary was going to pitch to the superdelegates that she *had* to take it to Denver and to force a floor-fight. Because 2 digits is just “too close.” I read yesterday (can’t find so quickly) that this was the thinking.

So the spendthrifting, the bridge-burning, was going to pay off if she could just get under 100. Then she’d claw her way to a floor fight and emerge bloody and victorious… and then pay off the debts.

This also explains the behavior of her top surrogates. This pyramid scheme was the only way they’d get paid as well. The Clintons made too many promises since 2000 to too many people – my assumption is they have a “promise debt” to go with this money debt – and so all of her surrogates needed to go along.

Its the mentality of a gambler, really. If you’re so deep in the hole, the concept of stopping is crazy because if you owe $10,000, then the next humongous bet will pay that off if you win! And when that fails, make another humongous bet. Lather, rinse, repeat.

(Or give her the VP slot to free up her $23M in GE funds?)

I read somewhere that there are ways she can transfer the GE money to him. She can “return” the money to the donor and ask them to give it to Obama. I don’t know how common this is. As for Clinton for VP (I think a bad idea for both), via Greg Sargent here is Wolfson:

“While Senator Clinton has made clear throughout this process that she will do whatever she can to elect a Democrat to the White House, she is not seeking the vice presidency, and no one speaks for her but her. The choice here is Senator Obama’s and his alone.”
