I give up:

Larry Sinclair is one of the most outrageous anti-Obama smear merchants. So why is the National Press Club hosting him this coming Wednesday? Apparently Jeff Gannon wasn’t available.

Sinclair’s story about having used cocaine and having sex with Obama in 1999 is not credible. As Stoller says, it’s another “whitey” style rumor and we all know how quickly this stuff makes the leap from the right wing smear machine to Sean Hannity to Fox News and then alley-oops its way into the AP.

I really don’t know what to say. If the media is now going to talk to every crackpot out there, there used to be a lady who walks up and down High Street here in Morgantown with a bottle of bleach talking to herself. Maybe she can speak next month.

    Anyone who isn’t completely innumerate should see a problem with that, even if they didn’t feel like looking up the USGS report on the subject. I went ahead and did the math.

    It would work out to be 15.1 quintillion (that’s 15 billion billion) barrels of oil consumed over that period. That’s something like 115 million times the the amount of oil Ghawar is expected to produce over its entire lifetime. That much oil is enough to cover all of ANWR to a depth of 14 thousand miles, or the entire state of Alaska to a depth of 639 miles. It would be roughly 1/4 the volume of the dwarf planet Pluto.

I was listening to Dan Abrams show on MSNBC, and several times I heard Pat Buchanan refer to Obama as “exotic“. Exotic?! I have never heard a Presidential candidate (or a President) referred to as “exotic“, but it didn’t take two seconds to figure out what Pat was implying.

    Dan and the other guests on his show laughed at the label, but they did not challenge Buchanan to define what the word meant when he used it.
