Sure easy for you to say but my homes teams are Oakland, 9ers, and demos. I’m not sure I’ll be able watch any games.

Our long national nightmare is over. The NFL is back.
Oh god.
For those of us not one iota into football, it’s the silly season now.
Joe Lieberman is being seriously vetted by the McCain campaign for VP.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Good. If they pick him, it should be easy to make the case that a McCain administration will result in all-out war with Iran and indefinite occupation of Iraq. It’s Lieberman’s top, and indeed only, priority these days.
in some good meta-news, at least the story about the wrong drug bust on mayor cheye calvo (killing his two labrador retrievers) is getting some television coverage; details at skippy.
Not a Steelers fan, but I do have a ticket to their last preseason game.
As a lifelong Giants fan I look forward to doing a lot of trash talking until they are eliminated from the playoffs. Until then I will be more than insufferable.

Go Browns! I’m looking forward to having a fighting chance against the Steelers this year.
Go Mariners! They’re the best football team in the Pacific Northwest!
Which is pretty impressive, given that they’ve got the worst winning percentage in the AL…

Ted
Go Rams!
I really don’t care, but they’re my home town team, so whatever.

That’s exactly what Rush said today.
Odd thing about the Olympics. . . other humans actually have pride in their countries. Some smaller ones even more than the camera hogger U.S. types.
I await my traitor trial.

Yup, the Mariners play football better than the SeaHawks ever will. ;) Absolutely. Seattle solved my NFL craving once and for all. After the first ten years of the SeaHawks, I had totally lost all interest in football.
But I do like the Super Bowl commercials! For me, football is good for one thing.
Great commercials, once a year.

OT – but sports related.
Always kind of watch the opening ceremony for the Olympics and not much else and they’re always a pretty entertaining show…but, daaaaammmmmn! I pity any country that has to follow up tonights performance. That was just mindblowing. My family sat transfixed for two hours of non-stop “holy crap!” moments.
Oh, yeah and Bush either smirked like an asshole or looked bored and irritated throughout. Dickwad.

Those are the only two facial expressions he has, at least when he’s conscious.

Watching the NFL on TV is like watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies last night: too many time-outs, stoppages, ads, and droning by announcers and “color men”.
Try hockey and soccer.

As a Stiller fan living just south of Eugene Ore, I’m looking forward to seeing Dennis Dixon in Black and Gold.
Let the real games begin

Dixon looked pretty good last night. Batch got hurt and Dixon had to play alot more than we all expected, he looks to be a solid back-up.
Steelers Sshould be pretty good this year, 11-5 or maybe better.

Game wasn’t on out here and I thought it was a Saturday gsme so I would have missed it anyhow. Glad Dixon had a good day, he’s such a sweet kid, but Homestead Charlie is a favorite of mine so it’s a mixed blessing.
I’m excited about this season too

It is indeed treasonous to not like football. Still I stand proud. But I will watch the best picks of the Super Bowl commercials next year.
