Via memeorandum, the National Black Republican Association has placed fifty billboards around Denver:

That by itself is funny, but if you want to see the NBRA really bring the funny, you have to read their magazine, “The Black Republican” (.pdf). Apparently there is only one, and her name is Deborah Honeycutt. Other topics in this issue inclue why Democrats should apologize to blacks and the myth of Republican Racism.
Hey- you gotta start somewhere, I guess.

That billboard emphasized the wrong word. It should read:
“Martin Luther King Jr. Was A Republican”

Jesus Christ. NAMBRA received an ass-ectomy the last time they ran this ad but I guess once wasn’t enough.

Even if he had been a Republican 40 years ago, that logic is idiocy.
Lincoln was a Republican 150 years ago. How many of the Republicans’ racist Southern base wants to contemplate that?
George W. Bush and John S. McCain are Republicans NOW, and they’re diametrically opposed to the kinds of values King espoused.
