Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

You cannot shame the shameless.

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

It is not hopeless, and we are not helpless.

One lie, alone, tears the fabric of reality.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

Jack Smith: “Why did you start campaigning in the middle of my investigation?!”

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

American history and black history cannot be separated.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

Mediocre white men think RFK Jr’s pathetic midlife crisis is inspirational. The bar is set so low for them, it’s subterranean.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

Every reporter and pundit should have to declare if they ever vacationed with a billionaire.

Celebrate the fucking wins.

Our messy unity will be our strength.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

This chaos was totally avoidable.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

President Musk and Trump are both poorly raised, coddled 8 year old boys.

Don’t forget…Chris Rock replay on HBO tonight.
I’m glad you gave up on TrueBlood. I taped the first episode, and never went back to watch it. Just taped right over it. I feel as if I’ve missed nothing.
Amazing Race about to premier? It was a FLUKE I even knew. I was watching 60 Min. when I learned of it. I swear. I am so not into reality shows.
(Except for PR and Top Chef.)

This new fast-to-load and fast-to-post model of BJ has given me back about 3 hours of my day that I used to spend trying to load, trying to post, waiting to see if post posts, re-posting posts, cursing lost posts, re-posting lost posts, yada yada yada.

I’m still unsure as to what I fear more: McCain as President, or Governor Palin as VP. And then I realized the answer is YES.

Gland my Undisclosed Location in New England is a swing state. You put two more tick marks in the MUP column in this swing state. I just wished I could get that tingling sensation running up my leg like Tweety! I feel deprived and left out of the ELITE group of Cool People. Oh well.

Uhmmm, more importantly, season premier of Dexter in 45 minutes. Come on now, you gave True Blood a shot and not Dexter? For shame!

THANKS for the reminder about Dexter! I knew I’d forget. I swear I have to track these things in my Week-at-a-Glance lately. No STM at all. I blame the prolonged primaries, of course.
Dexter is as close as I can get to 6FU, which says a lot for True Blood, huh???

Anybody want to be Governor Palin’s gay friend? I don’t know if you have to be gay but how much fun would it be to talk about the Very Dangerous Russians and skin a moose? Fucking-A I’m getting a … well never mind … but it would be just fabulous!

I am neither gay nor friendly, but I could see how it might be fun. I mean, imagine the heart to heart conversations about nothing you could have.

I spent the whole time watching that video expecting McCain to be so thrilled by his victory that he has a heart attack during the acceptance speech.

    Thanks for the nightmares!

I really like True Blood (TruBlood) — the boyfriend is cute!

And that video made me sick to my stomach. I felt like I was re-living 2004, only worse.

I finally fired up the Tivo and watched 3 TrueBlood episodes in a row. I haven’t decided if I like it yet or not. I don’t hate it, and liked some parts of it. I’ll have to wait and see a few more. I’m curious about how a vampire and a “breather” go about having an affair without him eventually ripping her throat out.

I can’t decide whether I will like TrueBlood or not. I love Dexter, Weeds, Californication. Loved Six Feet Under (probably my favorite TV show ev-ah), but the jury is out on TrueBlood. So far it feels a little forced to me, but maybe it will evolve. Dunno.

I am one of those people that once they get involved with a show watches it to the bitter end. The only exception was X-Files, where I gave up after David Duchovny left. I even watched all 10 seasons of 90210 (I am ashamed of this, but will admit it on this anonymous comment thread).

At any rate, I donated $250 to Obama. I’m fearful about the economy (my wife’s in a commission based job and has been holding her own, but they’ve fired like 10 people for failing to meet quotes (out of 30) so we’re nervous. But there’s just no way this country can survive a McCain presidency, er I mean, 1 year of McCain and 3 years of Bush and Cheney’s illegitimate gay love-child Palin.

Give what you can. Then give some more.

I watched the leaked pre-release first ep of True Blood and found it maddeningly uneven in tone from one scene to the next, but figured it would get fixed up in editing. I guess not?

    But yay Dexter!

Well, thank God I’m not the only person who thinks TrueBlood is wretched. I watched 10 minutes of it Sunday night because there’d been so much hype about what a clever vampire series it was, and wound up switching over to Nova. Come on! Trailer trash vampires? For heaven sake….I live down the road from a trailer park filled with redneck vampires. That’s just not really that big a deal for me. They’re all voting for McCain, by the way. But they’re also all dead, so f– ’em.

I wish someone ANYONE would figure out how people really talk in Louisiana. Nobody in Louisiana says, “my stars!” The accents are awful, especially the mexican guy trying to be cajun. They truly are bloody awful. Some of the plot is interesting, but a lot of it feels forced and the audience is asked to accept a lot out of hand. The only thing saving it for me is the hot guys.
