Finally, decent water pressure. Not sure why hotels gimp their damned showers so badly.

Welcome home. First order of business: Grovel before the cat to make up for going AWOL. Second order of business: A brisk round of "What did the cat shred/break/eat/puke or shit on. This time."

What’s a “hotle”?

It’s where you fuck a dyslexic hooker.

I’ve always been very superstitious of that too.

Dub-V v. CincinNOTti tomorry. White needs to sack up, drop the purse and tampon, and run for 170 yrds and 2 TDs.
And UMich may be begging you to take DickRoddy back next year.

It’s to reduce water consumption. I’d like to think it’s a "green" thing, but I suspect it’s to save money.

Live Alive is a fantastic album, however the CD is missing his version of LIfe Without You. Vinyl only. I guess he left it off because it was recorded during his smack days and when he got clean, about the time they released the CD, he didn’t like his performance.
Too bad, because the solo in that song literally brought tears to my eyes. The studio version just doesn’t do it justice.

Because they’re not in Vegas. Those can be serious power showers.

Can we make a pact to gather on Penn. Ave. on Jan. 21 and sing:
“Na, na, na, na. Hey, hey, hey. Goodbye.”

Who was that man behind the podium on my teevee today? He spoke in complete sentences. Someone told me he’s going to be the president in January but I told him he was crazy. Our presidents aren’t supposed to look intelligent… are they?

Geek Pron:
I’m testing a new MacBook Pro for work, and have taken it home this weekend. Holy Shit this thing is teh sexy. The lack of a mouse button took about 30 seconds to get used to and the gestures are actually useful.
Holy crap I want one, I’m saving my pennies now.

He even called and apologized to Nancy Reagan for the seance remark. That’s *1* more apology than I think I’ve heard from the current administration – ever. It sure seems like it, anyway.

@Rommie:
But it was a Gaffe, GAFFE I SAY!!! And it proves that we should have elected Palin. Liberal wussies apologize, real moose hunters don’t.
This is good news for Palin in 2012.

I can do that.

Drop COD4 on there. The graphics performance on the new ones is pretty impressive. It’s got two GPUs that you can switch between – one gives better battery life and the other rather impressive performance for a lappy.
As for versatility, they can’t be beat. I run VMWare Fusion on mine while I do web development. I’ve got apache and all the goodies running in OS X and I can put Mac and Windows browsers up side-by-side for testing. Turn on a decent window manager and it’s all kinds of awesome.

Well, damn. Thanks to my genius MIT buddy my beloved Sony turntable is now able to speak fluently to my soundcard. And, thanks to Sound Forge, I can filter out the occasional clicks and pops that are inevitable on vinyl despite loving care. Now to listen to a few of 400 vinyl albums dating back to the late 50’s. It’s like coming home.

@Martin:
Yeah my main rig is a Santa Rosa MacBook Pro. It’s excellent. Parallels Desktop for the M$ apps I have to run…it’s perfect. Haven’t Tried VM ware yet. I’m starting some web development for my next project, I’ll be using a VM for the early dev at least.
FYI. Crossover/Wine while works good on Linux, is not ready for primetime on Macs.
Oh and I’m a WoW type o’ guy.
Martin
VMWare runs circles around Parallels. Fusion is damn near perfect running rootless apps. I like that it’ll just run out of my Bootcamp partition without a hitch.
A number of my friends work at Blizzard. One is one of the project leads for Battlenet. I used to hang out with him before WoW came out. Since then he rarely gets out of work. I’ve got a standing offer for all of the Blizzard games but I’ve avoided WoW. Its trashed enough relationships already without anyone actually playing the game.

@r€nato: Shocking! And not once did he accuse anyone of being an America-hating terrorist coddler.
Wait … you don’t think he’s … REASONABLE?!

Umm, there’s a not-quite-dead technology called the ‘home stereo’ that the Sony turntable would have felt very at home with.
I told a hi-fi tech that I had a Dual 1229 turntable with a few bugs and he practically begged me to bring it in for him to fix. Works like a charm now. Also have a Goldring manual that I like a lot. Records are cool.

@gbear:
First, the Altec-Lansing "Voice of the Theater" speaks died, one at a time. I replaced them with John B. Lansing towers. JBL was bought up and the new outfit couldn’t provide replacements that had the JBL sound, Then it became impossible to find tubes for the two Bogen Presto pre-amps. And so it went. I held on to the vinyl and the turntable.

@Dennis – SGMM:
Ahh. I never had the budget to get any farther in than a good receiver (a HK930 back then). Yes, tube amps were/are the best way to go.
I’ve still got the JBL Century 100’s that I bought with the HK receiver and the Dual tt. They’re still hanging in as well as my damaged-from-playing-in-ungodly-loud-rock-bands ears can tell. The foam grills have gone the way of the dinosaurs, though. I’ve hauled around my share of ‘Voice of the Theater’ road cabinets. They certainly were everyone’s favorites back in the late 70’s.
