Seems kinda ghey. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course.

I hate you. I hope Tunch gets you up extra early every day for the rest of the week.

Wow! Beat somebody once and you get all giddy. You got some tough games coming up so you better wash your cum towels and get it together.
Michael
The Steelers win can not hurt as bad as my Giants win last January!!!!!
Teak111
As a forlorn charger fan, I have to jump on somebodies bandwagon and I have chosen the Stillers (did I say that right?). Tough D, decent offense, they will make some noise in the playoffs.
robertdsc
In all honesty, I was bummed out more by the Colts AFC Championship game in 06 than the Giants loss. With Tyree’s magic catch, the gods were not with us. I can accept that.
I cannot accept letting that choking bitch Peyton Manning come back.

I’m sure the 113th posting of this video on Sadly No will come soon enough as well.

Is this one of those homosexual recruitment films I was warned about by Dobson?

OT but of interest: Chambliss is on track to win comfortably. Right now it’s 66% to 34%. I doubt it will change enough to matter. Too bad but that’s Georgia. Write them off. It will always go this way, but I hope I’m wrong (but doubt I am).
Shygetz
@smiley: You’re right in the short term, wrong in the long term. Georgia is getting younger and more minority-heavy. Give us 15-20 years, then check back…we may have made it to the 21st century by then.
Hey, better late than never, amirite?!?
Just Some Fuckhead
Blame black folks. Too many of ’em won’t go out and vote for a white guy unless they’re already there voting for a black dude. And who can blame them, really?
But I still hate it.
Laura W
@smiley: I hope you did not let Michelle down and did your part.
Laura W
The Franken race is just surreal.13 freaking votes?????
Comrade Jake
You’re high if you think the smackdown occurs with Brady in the game. The Stillers better do their damage this year while they still can.
Svensker
Jets fan here. Was very happy to have the Stillers beat up on the Pats. Did I mention that I hate Bill Bellycheat? And I won’t say it was a good thing that Brady got hurt (bad karma to wish injury on another human, etc.) but let’s just say there were no tears shed in this corner of the NJ suburbs.
Face
Pretty sure a weak, conservative Dem from a conservative state helps Obama very little anyways. I couldnt care less about a Chambliss win. Dems will have 58, struggle to even get 50 on half of all their votes, and everything will be as normal.
p.a.
Amen bro’. Reche f***ing Caldwell, and not one call when the Dolts run picks on every pass play. But lets face it, Pats are past tense unless they rebuild the D.
Laura W
Seems like old times…
We’ll never get back onto this site now that Rachel has made it famous.
And jasonf, was it?
aaaarrrggghhhhh.

Hmmmmm… Footage of muscled, sweaty, rich men in tights, rolling around on the ground together.

Meh, I’ll pass.

Rachel Maddow?
Are you kidding me?
Zuzu's Petals
Okay, a question for all the cat experts out there.
Am house-sitting for a relative with two VERY well-taken-care-of-cats. Instructions are to cut up 1/2 chicken breast into teeny tiny pieces (I’m not kidding, with scissors) twice a day and mix in some green stuff and some brewers yeast. Mix in some wet food if they’re fussy.
They ate it the first time because I arrived late and they were probably starving. They’ve pretty much ignored it ever since. Have tried straight chicken breast with no extras…nope. Straight wet food … a nibble, then nope.
They are perfectly friendly and not fussing in any other way, but as this is the third day of the food strike, I’m a little concerned. I don’t get it. My kitties at home are sooo unfussy that way.
PS, their owner is out of cell phone range so I can’t ask her what to do.
smiley
@Just Some Fuckhead:
I might be "black folks" for all you know. You might want to be careful lest you prove yourself to be, you know, a fuckhead – the bad kind.
Laura W
@Zuzu’s Petals: They’re probably just freaked out with all the changes.
I’d just leave the chicken and wet food out for them to free feed…replace it twice a day so it doesn’t spoil…and let them be. Love on them and try to help them relax and cope with your intrusive presence and their peoples’ terrifying betrayal and abandonment.
When they get really hungry they’ll eat, but as long as it’s available to them, and is what they are accustomed to, they should be OK.
If you get really freaked out, pour some tuna water over the top of it. That should compel them to at least take a look-see.
smiley
@Zuzu’s Petals:
Give them their normal food. If they don’t eat it, it’s their fault. They will eventually (as you saw the first time you fed them). Cats, and other animals, are incredibly bound to routine. Get them into your routine, as close as it might be to what they are used to. They, and you , will be OK. Remember, you’re the boss.
Fraud Guy
Zuzu–
They’re cats, unfortunately.
Which means that the food is either too cold, too warm, too big, too small, too old, too fresh, too mixed, not mixed enough, or that they don’t want to eat because you’re either new, not their owner, not with their owner, not new enough, or they decided not to eat yet.
We had a cat go on about a 5 day hunger strike when we switched from moist to dry to cut costs a while back–eventually hunger won, but the noise and claw marks on random furniture indicated severe displeasure on her part.
That is one of the reasons why that cat is affectionately named "Miss B!tch"
John Cole
@edub: Anyone have a youtube of the Maddow show tonight?
Zuzu's Petals
Thanks Laura W, smiley, and Fraud Guy. I have just left the food out and then replaced at the next feeding time. That’s my sense, too, that they’ll eat when they’re darn good and ready.
Otherwise, they seem perfectly pleased that I’m there. So we’ll see…
Just to show how not-up-to-speed I am on these things, the owner’s note said I "may have to put faces in food" to convince them it’s edible even if green. I actually wondered if she meant that I should sketch a little face in the food. Though putting the cats’ faces near the bowls didn’t seem to help either.
Comrade Mary, Would-Be Minion Of Bad Horse
Ooh, I’ve tried the "faces in food" routine before, or, at least, the dab of Tonic-Lax (aka PetroMalt) on the nose.
Displeasure. MAJOR displeasure. Not at all recommended.
Yes, just leave out the food. They should be fine with just water for a couple of days if they are picky but not complaining. Tuna water over the food really is the nuclear option. It’s bad enough to get your own cats hooked on Big Pink: to do it to someone else’s cats would be incredibly cruel.
Laura W
@John Cole: Christ. My Mac keep stalling, but is this it?Can’t tell without playing it.
Comrade Mary, Would-Be Minion Of Bad Horse
Oh, is she going to reference the UAW play? She’s talking about the bailouts — AAAND it freezes. Looks like the entire world is trying to play the damn thing.
smiley
@Zuzu’s Petals:
That made me laugh out loud. I have no idea what she meant there. If she meant it to make the food look more like a prey animal, then that’s the only way it makes sense. Put faces in the food? Whose faces? Are you sure it’s not feces? As gross as it is, they’ve been known to be into the stuff.
Laura W
@Comrade Mary, Would-Be Minion Of Bad Horse: Oh good. I thought it was just me. Frustrating as all hell, however. Like trying to get back onto this site for the 30 min. after she mentioned it and read act 3!
Comrade Mary, Would-Be Minion Of Bad Horse
At this rate, I may see it live on the 11 PM repeat before the streaming video finally starts playing properly.

Just so everyone knows, the football team is called the "Steelers". Because they were named after steel. The Stillers would be all of the characters played by Ben Stiller. Like Zoolander.

Jim Martin is not a conservative Dem. He has embraced Obama and the progressive Democratic program wholeheartedly. I know because I have worked his campaign. He does not have the name recognition state wide and he is not charismatic. What he is, though, is a real Democrat and a principled fellow. Go google him and Chambliss at one and the same time and read about them as fellow Greeks at UGA in the late 60’s. Karma and justice would have meant that Chambliss should have lost. Chambliss, among other things, is truly tone deaf when it comes to making insensitive remarks i.e. racist ones.
The Republicans bombarded us with robocalls, mailers every day, and brought in all their big guns. I hate it that they won, but I am not going to disparage a candidate who has been through 4 elections since July: the primary, a runoff, the general election and a runoff. The Democratic party in this state has been in tatters since 2002. No real leadership and no viable leaders. Many of the leading lights of the Republican party were once Democrats, i.e. Gov. Perdue, who was at UGA with Isakson, Chambliss, and Martin. We are beginning to rebuild the party from the ground up, thanks to Howard Dean. As another commenter said, give us a chance;it will happen. Our Nov 4 results were a heck of a lot closer than those in 3 neighboring states, testament to the change that is beginning to occur.
P.S. Tammy Duckworth came though here yesterday campaigning for Jim. She was and is an outstanding speaker and person. I was very impressed with her.

@John Cole:
Tonight’s show is up on iTunes.
And going back to Brady for a second, I like this video better.
And melding Maddow, Brady and the Giants: Rachel is a Pats fan. In the week leading up to the SB, she badgered her producer and engineer incessantly about how the Giants had no chance. Payback is a bitch; K-Lo and Vanessa got even on Monday. It was a very funny show (and all in good fun).
Laura W
@Zuzu’s Petals:
I am gonna sit here until Rachel’s fuxxin video plays for me. So far Ed Rendell has stopped and started 98 times.
What concerns me about this faces comment is why should you have to prove to them that it’s edible if green? That implies that the green hue is new to them, and off-putting. If this is their normal food, they should be used to the green. Embrace the green! Eat the green without balking. Has she just recently tried to green her cats and left it to you to convince them green is good? I do not like the sound of all that, personally, but it is past my bed time and I am really frustrated that I can’t get BJ’s 3 seconds of fame on Rachel’s show to play.
PLAY, damnit, PLAY!

I know ! I think the fact that I didn’t immediately realize she just meant stick the cats’ faces in the food goes to show how VERY particular I see her instructions to be anyway. Like I said, my cats are over the moon with their twice-a-week wet food.
Comrade Mary: Yes, my attempts to stick their faces in the bowls also met with MAJOR displeasure. As in stiff legs feet splayed out displeasure. Food on the nose got me nowhere.
You gave me an idea about the tuna juice, though. None in the house, but I sprinkled bonito flakes over the food when I just now fed them. They’re eating ! ! ! ! Or at least one of them is. Fingers crossed.

3 people have made that typo so far in this thread. I want to make that typo memorable.
Zuzu's Petals
@Laura W:
Hmm, sounded like an everyday ritual to me, plus they love the same stuff in their little chewies. Ah, who knows.
smiley
@Zuzu’s Petals:
OK, I get it. Put face in food. That’s just lame. Maybe I’ve just been lucky but I’ve never, ever had a problem feeding cats anything other than dry, hairball preventing, cat food. That’s probably because they’ve never had anything else. They’re fine and healthy. Giving them really good stuff, like cut up chicken sometimes and ordinary cat food other times is probably the problem. How would like having gourmet Italian most nights but bread and water on the others?
Just Some Fuckhead
@smiley: Smiley, I don’t give a fuck what color you are or what you think of me. Pie me if you got a problem with the truth.

@bago:
It’s not a typo. It’s how some of the locals pronounce the team’s name, most notably the late and very much missed Myron Cope, broadcast-colorman, Terrible-Towel-inventor and life-long Stiller fan. And as one of those Terrible Towel wavin’ fans myself, I say "Go Stillers!!"
Damn, now I’m all sniffly thinking about Myron. Ah to hear a good ole "Double Yoi!" just one more time….
Oh, and I’m a Steelers fan living in Indianapolis, so you just KNOW I love watching the Patriots lose!!

I don’t see what all the fuss is. Brady looks exactly like me.

Losing in the regular season isn’t an epic smackdown. What the Jags did to the Steelers in last year’s playoffs is an epic smackdown.

Pittsburgh is a tough place to play, especially as the season rolls along.
But watch out. The Niners are on the rise. Next year, or the year after that, or the year after that, or the year after that year.
