Me too, and I don’t even have a blog.

Really? And here I figured you’d find the counterbalance of GOP/MSM mongering and their complete inability to drag Obama’s approval numbers down amusing fodder…

No shit, same here. Everything on the ‘news’ was predictable, same with the lies that these ‘news people’ tell us. Nothing has changed except now there is this one guy who wants to fix things and he needs help to do so. Problem is that he needs the help of the very same people who put us in this mess to get us out of it.
In the meantime, according to those people who got us into this mess, it is all his fault.
You can’t fix stupidity, you can only point it out. I am all pointed out for now.
Jason
And yet here you are. Blogging.

Seriously, John? Get a bike. My mood has improved so fucking much and I’m getting so much other stuff done just by spending a little time on the bike each day. It eats stress (and I cycle in Toronto, land of Crazy Drivers, and it’s still overall a net reduction in stress for me), you’ll get more fit, and you’ll set an excellent example for Tunch.
Bike! Bike! Bike! Bike! Bike!

Take a break from the political stuff. It’s too depressing and we’re all getting angry and spinning our wheels over every fresh outrage. Just give us some open/pet/Tunch threads this weekend. I’ll be busy today working on a Keynote presentation I’m giving next weekend. But I’m going to try to get out for a drive. I find it helps clear the mind sometimes.

Go for a long walk with your big head buried between your iPod earphones!
Gorgeous day. Must be a bazillion degrees of warm sun already.
Bulb flowers pushing up out the ground. Yay Spring!
Sun + Air + Deep Breathing + Moving Through Space Quickly = Sanity.
Following my own advice, out the door…right this moment…

Jason (#4) beat me to it.
Although these days what you just did would be better defined (save for the actual location of the sentence, which is no small thing) as a tweet.

We are having a lovely day. It’s about 45 degrees here at my undisclosed location in NH. The snow is melting off, roads are clear, and I’m going to get the kids bikes out to go for a ride with them. We have a couple of tires to fix, and then it’s off to the Rail Trial for a fun day.

Well, what John needs is the opening of football season again…

@Laura W:
Spring? Some people have spring already?

Jai ho! Go read Eunoia and follow that by reading several NRO "articles." That’ll give you something to blog about.
(I mean the Christian Bok book)

@Fern: Western NC, Baybee. On the way to 73 today. This is my 3rd spring here and by St. Pat’s Day, it seems to be fully underway. And it happens so quickly here. Overnight new flowers and bushes and trees bloom and leaf out. Makes the sights on my walk new every day. I love it here, even if I weren’t still comparing it to Colorado where winter stretches from October through June every damn year.
Hyperion
gee, i wonder why.
work on your dissertation.
it ain’t gonna write itself.

What, not even a cat or dog picture, John? Wow, this is serious.

it’s currently 71 in central NC.
off to spray my first round of Roundup on the cracks in the cement!
spring!
we moved down here from upstate NY, in march (of 97). crossing the VA/NC border was like driving into Oz – suddenly there was green grass and flowers everywhere.

Get your jingoism fix by watching the US against Canada in the World Baseball Classic.
Comrade Darkness
You always say that, and then you pummel us with 15 fantastic posts, all in a row.
We’ll all wait. Until we don’t… and emerge from our computer caves to blink blindly into the sunlight of a freshly burgeoning spring.

@iluvsummr:
Bok’s book boosts blog posts, for poor blog hosts nor blog flocks rock blogs on for long. Good dog posts, tho. Boors forlorn on John’s low mock flow don’t know how to go on, ok, no prob – tomorrow BJ locks on most morons’ posts fo sho.

Sigh. Still frozen solid in these here northern climes.

Spring training. Baseball. Slap of leather as pitchers warm up. Crack of bats. Smell of hotdogs.
The Cactus League. 14 teams. No waiting.

I turned to CNN to let it run in the background while I am taking the top end off of my motorcycle engine. Fuck! Their inane market crisis babble is enough to drive anyone insane. They mentioned Obama and his statement about the Dow being a sort of short term indicator that he will ignore while he focuses on the long term results. The hosts whined that the "investor class" was the most upset because they have lost a ton of money in "this poll Obama mentions". Realizing that they just pointed out who was pissed at Obama (the rich), they quickly revised the "investor class" as their viewers who have a 401k or other investments.
Nice try, no save. They made it clear that the rich are pissed at Obama because he didn’t save the day on Day 1 of his administration, so now everything is his fault. Now they are saying that the market is being called "The Obama Bear". I wish to fuck that stupidity killed the stupid. These rich assholes who are pissed can go fuck themselves. If they are too stupid to see what happened then they deserve the worst.
There are times that I hope that this clusterfuck makes the depression look like happy days, just so I can see these arrogant assholes reduced to the piles of shit that they are. I work with my hands and my brain, I will survive.
They won’t.

Take heart. You might be the only person watching that nonsense on a Saturday morning.
Even stupid Newsweek figures it out.

Thanks for throwing a lifesaver to a guy who is drowning in a sea of stupid. :)
That is the reason I want Obama to succeed; people out there see how the bankrupt ideology of the Rushublican party has bankrupted or wiped out everyone but the rich. They are being reasonable and giving Obama time to act before passing judgment.
I really believe that the media mouthpieces know this and they are hyping the bad news and desperately trying to pin everything on Obama in an attempt to drive those numbers down. Quite a few of those faces on the ‘news’ make over $250,000 and thus are subject to the Bush tax cuts since they will not be renewed. I think this makes them a bit more shrill than usual because they have a stake in the outcome.
If more people make the connection between the disaster decibel level in the media and the fact that it is due to their whining about having to pay more in taxes, the more disgusted people will get with the whole system financial/media/political connections. It is a system and they have been gaming it for too long. I hope the internet has a hand in their undoing.
Information is sunlight. We need lots of sunlight now, stat!

I am calling straight up bullshit. You’ll have to take my word but I promise you that drivers in the Greater Houston Metro area take special delight in almost killing anyone on a bike.
They all Drive Friendly, the Texas Way – until they spot some poor bastard on a cycle. Then it’s Game On! Death Race 3000!

U definitely got skillz.

Sorry. Don’t miss it one little bit. We put on shorts for the first time in months and went for a walk on the beach.

Spring fever! It’s 70 in Indianapolis, I feel so much better just being able to walk outside without the burden of a coat and gloves–it’s so liberating. Ahhh! I went shopping today to help stimulate the economy.

I wouldn’t say no to some pet pix.

It wasn’t too bad here today. I was able to go outside with just my regular, unlined leather jacket on, as opposed to my big parka, gloves, scarf, hat and boots. I can’t wait for the warmer weather. My toes are craving air, freedom and sandals.

I gave all ten of my toes a pedicure today out on the 75 degree back deck with the feline sun whores.

I don’t know how anybody writes day after day, week after week, year after year…then again, I don’t really write much original work anyway. Punditry seems so irrelevant when you flail away at the same stuff year after year.
I’m reminded of the old joke about the schoolteacher who taught Grades 8 and 9 for decades and finally was caught in a hissy fit with a new class stumped at the basics, as per usual : " You don’t learn anything!"
