Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Consistently wrong since 2002

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

The words do not have to be perfect.

Wow, I can’t imagine what it was like to comment in morse code.

Schmidt just says fuck it, opens a tea shop.

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

The revolution will be supervised.

Battle won, war still ongoing.

I really should read my own blog.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

The GOP couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

Aren’t they wonderful. I can easily imagine mortar boards and tassels on their little domes.

[Now, did they really earn the graduation or were they just socially promoted?]

    The Moar You Know

I did. It was hard to find words, which are wholly inadequate anyway.

Not being a parent, I literally cannot imagine what he is going through, but I have some idea as my neighbor’s boy got killed in a car accident this last summer. I was good friends with him, and I am good friends with his brother and his mom. They have recovered, in a manner of speaking, but neither one of them is ever going to be the same again.

I stopped by too, having recently lost my kid sister to suicide and being with my folks to help them get through it I can empathize with the pain.

Jesus, that was heartbreaking. I couldn’t finish it because I didn’t want to start crying at work.

Before this fade too far down page I want you all to know that the out pouring of kind words means a lot and to thank you for them. And to thank John as well. We will not forget.

Words are always inadequate at a time like this, but know that we here are with you, your late son, and your family in spirit. May he rest in peace now.

    To Chuck,

My heart goes out to you, your family, your friends, and loved ones. I know the struggles of dealing with emotional pain and the helplessness one feels watching someone else try to deal with it.

I’ve always thought of you as a wonderful voice of reason and compassion. I’m moved by your remembrances of your son.

    My sincere condolences.
