Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

All your base are belong to Tunch.

The revolution will be supervised.

Come on, man.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

A last alliance of elves and men. also pet photos.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

Everybody saw this coming.

This really is a full service blog.

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

Battle won, war still ongoing.

Eh, that’s media spin. biden’s health is fine and he’s doing a good job.

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. let’s win this.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

Conservatism: there are some people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

An almost top 10,000 blog!

Whatever happens next week, the fight doesn’t end.

Republican obstruction dressed up as bipartisanship. Again.

This blog will pay for itself.

I’m originally from Big Ten country, went to a Big Ten school, so I’d love to see a tight, exciting game that is won by Michigan State.

I’m with Montysano. (I also just love a man in green. ; ) Though part of me wants UNC to win because of Obama and Michael Jordan. Yup. It’s a toughie.

Well, as much as green IS my favorite color, NC has been berry, berry good to me since moving here in Dec of 06.
Plus, it went Blue for Obama.
    I owe NC a lot.

I don’t care either, but my high school team was called the Spartans, and Detroit needs some love. Aren’t the papers out of business there? If they win, there won’t be a front page screaming headline to save for posterity? End of the world as we know it, indeed.

My DH’s high school colors are "Carolina Blue and white" although round here we call it "West Columbus Blue and white" so obviously I am rooting for the tarheels. My DH is staying in Columbus County in a motel tonight so that he can watch the game and not have to get up at 4am.

Actually Laura, look up on a clear, and beautiful sunny day, it is a "Carolina Blue Sky" against the Carolina Pines, I am told (and have no way of confirming this) but the sky in our part of the woods is a particular shade of blue, which the tarheels took as their own. There is nothing like it. Oh and cause I am a blog pimp, here is a pic of my DH’s band in their "Carolina Blue" uniforms

I love NCIS reruns. I love the goth chick and her geeky partner too.

Watching the local news right now. They brought in 300 cops to Chapel Hill to handle the after game celebration. Expecting 45,000 people on Franklin Street. Watering down the streets right now so the fans can’t set anything on fire.

I had no idea they do that stuff here. Sounds like Boston after the World Series win.

Congrats to Zoogz (obviously a lurker) and Libby on her strong 2nd place finish – you go, girl! And you’re right – we picked the most actual winners, although my passion for the Tigers caused me to totally flame out at the end. Our "Wow" hire was announced tonight, but sadly it’s like "Wow – who the hell is Josh Pasternak?" He’s the assistant coach that no one had ever heard of. Oh well, he’s real young, so we’ll have lots of time to rebuild before he’s ready to move on down the road.

And Laura W. – your North Carolina pick pulled you up into the top 20. Yay for you!

I’m glad I finished in the top 10 and managed to beat that well known basketball afficianado in Washington. ; )

@Zoogz: Heh. If I had understood the bonus pt. rules, I would have gone for more upsets. Live and learn.

It was still fun to play and that’s the best I’ve ever done. Next year I’ll be a contender… :)

I’m a North Carolina native, with two UNC parents, so I’m happy. This time no Fred Brown throw, or Chris Webber timeout, to muddle the win– just pure whoopass from the get go. I wonder how many RedStaters think the NCAA was forced to throw the game for Obama’s bracket.

UNC grad here, still living a walk away over in Carrboro. Just got back from Franklin St, where hooligans/undergrads had climbed onto crosswalk signs and were destroying our beloved Franklin/Columbia streetsigns while thousands of people cheered them on and jumped over mid-street bonfires. Chapel Hill’s finest were serving & protecting us by observing the mayhem from the windows of University Baptist Church on that very corner.

All in all, an incredible night.

ps. The person who mentioned the entire state being drunk is on the right track. Plan on my being late for work.

    Zoogz

    April 7, 2009 at 9:32 am

    @ JD Rhoades:

No worries here. I’m a Michigoonian, and quite frankly I’m happy that the better team won. Of course, for rooting interest NC winning gave me the winning bracket here… plus the fact that I’m a U-Mich fan.

(Super-)quick story: when U-Mich was playing Ohio State in football in 2006, and U-M was #2 while Ohio State was #1… it was just like the Final Four scenario with Michigan State. If U-Mich won, they’d be in the football championship game with a chance for the national title. Sparty was all too happy that U-M lost big to OSU.

So, this is payback for 2006. Suck on it, Sparty. I can only pretend for so long.
