Sullivan has a link to several movies remade as David Lynch films, and as always, whenever I see one of those, I think of the Gold Standard:

If you like these kinds of things, here is a website I sorta keep track of- The Trailer Mash. Every now and then there is a good one. I found this one with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off re-imagined as a horror to be amusing:

    Brokeback to the Future… Classic. Almost as good as that one is the Shining trailer, remixed as a touching family comedy.

    It’s a wonder what Peter Gabriel’s Salisbury Hill can do to a random set of movie clips.

    Sadie is addicted to Cream.
    Annie and Sadie used to be addicted to Greenies.
    Now they are addicted to Treats.
    Can you hear the auditory similarities? It’s really good that you foster and enable a dependence to these things, because it pretty much means they are trainable, like dogs. And cats are. I don’t care what dog people say. Cats are totally trainable. They are far smarter than dogs — you just have to learn how to bribe, outsmart and manipulate them. Dogs are just stoopid and live to please.

    When I want Sadie to come in, I say “Sadie, CREAM!” and I shake the pint of half and half.
    When I want Annie to come in, “Annie TREATS!” and I shake the bag of Greenies or Temptations.

    It’s pretty foolproof.
    Which means it works even for me.

    @Dan: There’s no video for this, just a thought piece, but it raises the idea that Ferris Bueller was really just a figment of Cameron’s imagination, a la Tyler Durden of Fight Club. I don’t know if it works all the way through, but it played with my head for a while.
